GONG GONG So,
Immediately drawn to the cycles of the breath.
There are seasons in there in a way.
A different purpose for each aspect of breath.
We often speak about the refreshing aspect of the breath,
Which is kind of pointing to sort of the whole aspect of the breath,
Because there's the removal of gases that are too much of and bringing in gases that we need.
And the whole thing is a sort of a process of the refreshing out with the old and with the new.
And it just goes on and on.
And we have some hand in adjusting it.
We can consciously or unconsciously hold our breath at times.
Heavier,
Lighter,
Deeper.
Long and short.
We can't stop it.
So each moment we can look at sort of which part,
Which season of the breath we're in.
How that's affecting the body.
What sensations were abiding with how it's connecting sensations with breath in general to the sensation of the body as a whole.
So in each moment there's.
The subtle differences.
And then broadly,
There is.
This idea of breath as a whole,
Like I said,
That which is refreshing the body.
There's the impulse that makes the function happen,
Drawing the breath in.
And the letting go,
The relaxing out breath.
We talk about that there is an energy of the breath,
The breath beyond just the mechanical bellows of the diaphragm and lungs.
It's connected with that.
What's?
The signal.
Calling for the breath to be drawn in something there,
It's prior.
It's something that transcends just the.
You said the lungs and the diaphragm.
It occurs on the cellular level.
It's a relationship between this body and somehow this environment that has this stuff floating around that nourishes it.
This points to the.
The unknown and the unknowable aspect.
Something well beyond our ability to comprehend.
And so naturally,
We come back.
We enjoy our heritage.
Our portion,
Our lot.
This breath.
Simple,
Refreshing.
In the simile of the fortress,
The concentration that comes through the mindfulness of breath and body,
That settled concentration is the food.
For the fortress.
That we might be nourished in our temporary seclusion in meditation.
And you may not think that the breath feels all that good at first,
First start doing it.
Maybe like not much at all or slightly uncomfortable.
Can you identify an aspect where there's some ease?
And whatever degree we find the refreshment,
The pleasure,
The ease,
That's what we.
We rest the mind may seem like a small resting place at times,
But.
Eventually might find that it can.
Fill the whole body.
And beyond.
You.
You.
You.
You.
