Rushing from one thing to the other seems like the only approach possible, when there’s just too much to do. The trouble is, you know you aren’t thinking clearly, creatively, or doing your best work when you are constantly in a rush. Connect with the Divine in your heart, and find surprising ways to add in critical transition time, so you can have the impact you really want, without burning out.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم In the name of the One Most Compassionate,

Most Merciful,

Most Kind This is Mark Silver with Heart of Business and welcome to the Remembrance I want to invite each of us I want to invite you to give so much more spaciousness to your comings and your goings to your enterings and your leavings to your transitions and so even entering into this Remembrance let yourself have so much spaciousness letting go of an expectation to instantly enter some state different than the one you were in letting go of the need for there to be some instantaneous transformation what if there was plenty of time to get settled plenty of time to turn your attention plenty of time what if there was just no rush no one was waiting in the wings there was no next item to rush to and through and so even just arriving into Remembrance noticing how you feel noticing that you forgot to adjust your chair or you still left something that you wanted within easy reach or you forgot to light a candle that it is not a forgetting because this is the time for that for adjusting and moving and settling and remembering Allah and that your Remembrance can gently begin to happen even while you're settling the way that you can hum or sing to yourself as you do the dishes the way that you can bring your mind to remembering something beautiful or joyful or fun touching even when you're engaged with something else it's all part of the transition in Sufism,

In Islam there's a teaching that God,

That the Divine puts a barrier between things called a Barzakh and Barzakh is the word also used for that transition space between the after world and this world of the living when we're not entirely dead and yet no longer alive and it's the same thing that is applied to where a river meets the ocean where the water is brackish,

It's no longer the sweet water and it's not quite yet the full salty ocean water that the Divine grants this transition between all things and you too are granted this transition in every coming and going that you do not need to rush that you do not need to fake you do not need to create the illusion that you are somehow instantaneously transported from one state of consciousness to another that there is transition and so beginning to call through the open doorway of your heart having used up an entire third of our precious remembrance time in this transition knowing that it is time well spent deserved,

Granted,

Given,

Surrendered and noticing your heart and your being and how much more ready you are perhaps to enter more fully into fully into a space of remembrance calling through the open doorway of your heart Allah Allah and not being concerned in the least if your remembrance still has echoes of flavors tones of a different state of consciousness knowing that the Divine is the one who ordains what transition is needed that we don't always know Allah Allah and just noticing the heart of your business asking to be shown willing to be surprised in perceiving in any way that you perceive it the heart of your business presence of it and noticing what would it be like for you to be granted and for your business to be granted spacious transitions in moving from one task to the next moving from one appointment to the next in moving from one thought to the next asking the Divine to help you become aware of the barjak of the many different barjak that have been placed within and around your business within and around your own heart within and around your projects and tasks and appointments Allah Allah Allah What does your heart notice is possible for you and for your business if maybe you get a little less done and yet you have transition time barjak between things would you really get that between things would you really get less done or would you just touch fewer items just allowing your heart to be moved allowing your heart to be shown allowing yourself to notice what the Divine brings into your awareness as you rest into this remembrance of barriers of transitions of barjak Allah and allowing yourself to notice any authentic gratitude or appreciation anything that you received noticed and allowing yourself to express that to the Divine beautiful and bringing your attention to your heart allowing yourself to transition from this remembrance with as much spaciousness as you need
