Whether you face challenges or ease in your business, it’s easy to make up stories around what they mean. Do challenges mean you’re off your path, or that you’ve done something wrong? Does it always, absolutely mean you’re in alignment when things are easy? I have not found that a formulaic relationship to our business is helpful. Instead, use this Remembrance to sink deeply into your heart, and help to hear what the true meaning of any challenge or ease in your business.

A'u'du Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem Bismillah,

Rahmanir Raheem,

In the name of the One Most Compassionate,

Most Merciful,

Most Kind.

This is Mark Silver with Heart of Business.

Welcome to the Remembrance.

It can be easy to assign meaning to whether the path is easy or not.

And yet,

What we really need to do is listen to what's actually being communicated.

So inviting you to take a nice gentle breath and to notice how you're feeling.

To notice what's true.

To allow yourself to arrive.

So many things in motion,

Usually during the day.

And arriving in a space like this often requires a bit of transition and just breathing.

Knowing that everything that was in a motion before,

Plenty of space for that.

Not needing to push it aside or get rid of it.

And then just becoming aware of how your path in business or in life has been lately.

If it's part of a pathway that feels full of challenges and dead ends or U-turns or struggles,

And noticing the tendency to pre-interpret that,

To jump to an interpretation that something's wrong or broken,

That you're on the wrong path or that you've made some mistake.

Or the path has been easy and flowing and things seem to line up.

And noticing how it may be easy to fall into an interpretation that that means that you are 100% on the right track and that there's nothing off in what you're doing.

It's important to just sometimes check in with assumptions in your heart with the divine.

This is not intended to undermine confidence or to let go of a sense of flow.

But sometimes challenges are a sign that you're on the right path,

That it's building up some capacity in you,

Or that you're meant to clear the way for others.

And sometimes an easy path is a sign that you're heading down a road that's been well traveled but you're missing out on opportunities.

You're missing out on what is really being asked of you.

And sometimes that's not true.

Sometimes the easy path is the right path.

Sometimes the challenges do mean you're in the weeds.

But to not jump to those assumptions and to check in with your heart.

So whatever your experience of your path has been lately,

Just being with that experience and noticing any assumptions you make about that experience,

What meaning you think is attached to that kind of experience.

Just being honest and sincere.

And then bringing in the remembrance,

Remembering the presence of the divine,

The source of love.

Allah,

Allah,

Allah.

And opening your heart,

Letting your head bow,

Letting your heart bow,

Allowing yourself to embrace and accept and surrender to whatever the experience of your path has been up until now recently.

Not saying it can't change,

But just facing it and saying yes,

This is what the path has been like.

And also acknowledging,

And this is the meaning I made from that path.

And then finding the sincerity,

The curiosity,

The willingness to be surprised.

What is it that I'm being shown?

What is it that I'm being asked?

What is in my heart?

Everything to call through the open doorway of your heart to the source of love,

To the oneness,

To the divine.

Allah,

Allah,

Allah.

Allah,

Allah,

Allah.

And just noticing what your heart notices.

When you ask,

When you open,

When you're willing to be surprised,

What does your heart show you?

What is shown to you in your heart about the journey that you're on,

About the path as it is?

What is being asked of you?

Allah,

Allah.

Just continuing to call to the divine,

Not reaching for an answer,

Not trying to visualize or imagine an answer.

Sitting in your heart in the place of curiosity and openness,

In a place of sincerity.

Just calling to the divine over and over again through your heart.

Allah,

Allah.

Allah,

Allah.

What happens when your heart receives,

When you perceive and come to know what it is that's being shown to your heart around the path that you're on and the experience you're having with it?

Maybe it was the same as your interpretation.

Maybe it's different.

When your heart shows you,

When you are shown in your heart about the path you're on and the experience of it,

What happens?

Allah,

Allah.

Allah,

Allah.

Allow yourself to embrace,

To accept whatever it is that your heart is showing you and to let yourself trust and sink into that,

Knowing that it could change.

That's what it is right now.

And if you have noticing any authentic gratitude or appreciation for anything that you've experienced,

Letting yourself express that to the divine.

And taking a gentle breath and letting your attention return.
