Aum Shanti means I am peace.
Let us move the awareness towards a state of inner peace.
We start by fully relaxing the body.
So sit comfortably,
Alert posture,
Take a deep breath in and breathe out,
Relaxing completely,
Letting go and relaxing the legs,
The feet,
The toes,
Relaxing your back,
Shoulders,
Dropping the shoulders,
Relaxing the arms,
The hands,
The fingers,
Relaxing the neck,
The head,
The scalp,
Relaxing your eyes,
The mouth,
So the whole body is relaxed.
And now,
In this physically relaxed state,
To observe the thoughts,
The feelings in the mind,
Appreciating perhaps that one wants to experience a state of deep inner peace.
And the very desire to experience deep inner peace is a clear,
Direct signal and recognition that the self at one point truly was really peaceful and that inside the consciousness,
The memories,
Recording of that deep state of peace still exist.
So let us now focus the mind on our own thoughts,
Creating the thought that whatever is going on in the mind right now,
I accept it for what it is.
I let the thoughts come and go wherever they may go to.
Let the self become an observer of one's own thinking,
Letting go of the temptation to follow each thought and indeed to even feel each thought.
If one wishes,
One can think but not go into the feelings of the thought.
The thoughts will come and go about people,
Places,
Things,
Events.
But let me disengage the feelings of those thoughts and as one does this,
One can observe and notice perhaps that behind everything else,
The observer is a being of peace,
That the self,
The living energy,
The being in the human is actually at peace,
Calm,
Quiet.
That on the surface may be much noise but internally is real genuine quiet.
As one turns the mind within to hold the consciousness of the self as a being of peace,
Then peace can become one state of being and one becomes om shanti,
That is I am peace.
Om shanti.
