Meditation for anxiety and worry during lockdown.
We're all at home,
Not able to go out.
Sometimes we're alone with our thoughts.
Thoughts of worry and uncertainty.
We can soothe our minds by paying attention to our mental events.
Whatever they are,
They're already here.
How do you feel?
What's on your mind?
What are your thoughts?
Bring those worries to your awareness.
Give them some space within you.
And then let them go.
You don't have to stay with the thought,
Nor follow the chain of thoughts that comes with the first one.
They're not facts.
They're not the truth.
They're thoughts,
Mental events that your mind creates.
The mind wants movement and resolution.
We can train it to allow stillness.
Look at the mind trying to roam wild,
Take back control.
Regard every thought and emotion in this detached way as much as you can.
Bringing them into your awareness and then letting them go.
Are your thoughts making you feel anxious?
Are the emotions too strong to let go?
Maybe you're wishing to feel differently.
But if you allow yourself to feel it,
It'll go away.
Emotions aren't permanent.
Nothing lasts forever.
Even though it feels like it will.
If thoughts and emotions are too strong to let go,
You can concentrate on your body and breath.
If you pay attention to them,
You're already out of your head.
Take two deep breaths.
Inhaling.
Exhaling.
Inhaling.
Exhaling.
Where do you feel your emotions in the body?
You can relax your shoulders and your neck,
The expression on your face.
Continue to cultivate this awareness of body and mind throughout the day.
