The fifth section of Inner Divinity is about your spiritual support.
Shamanic journeying is an excellent way to meet compassionate spirits who are willing to help you in many aspects of your life.
The technique of journeying is ideally learned directly from an experienced teacher.

The following meditation is meant to give you an idea of what journeying is like as you seek to meet an animal spirit.
Before starting the meditation,
Picture a place in nature that you have been to in your real life,
Not imagined or in a dream.
It should have an opening into the ground,
Such as a tree with deep roots,
Or a hollowed-out trunk,
A cave,
A lake fed by a natural spring,
Or an animal's burrow.
Hold this place firmly in your mind as we begin.
It is your departure place.
Also hold the intention that you are looking for an animal spirit.
Close your eyes and move down into the natural opening of your departure place,
Traveling into the earth.
Use your imagination if you need to.
Make yourself small to travel down tree roots or an animal's burrow,
Or breathe underwater if you're entering through a spring.
Move down into the earth through a tunnel or tube-like opening.
You may see your surroundings or you may feel them.
Travel through this tunnel until you sense light and emerge at the end.
And once you step out of the tunnel,
Silently repeat your intention to meet an animal spirit.
Explore with all your senses.
If an animal is there,
Introduce yourself and begin to get to know it.
If an animal is not present,
Start to look for one.
Take your time and explore.
I'll let you know when it's time to return.
It's time to return now.
Say thank you and goodbye to the animal you're with.
Retrace your steps and go all the way back to the tunnel.
Go back through the tunnel to your departure place.
Once you're there and when you're ready,
Take a few deep breaths and open your eyes.
