Okay friends,

So today I want to talk about how can we overcome,

I would say,

The negative influence of some thoughts that we have in our subconscious minds.

But first I want to explain,

And this is an analogy,

This is not exactly how this happens,

But this is just to oversimplify some things.

We have two minds,

The subconscious mind and the conscious mind.

And I think about them as two different computers.

The conscious mind is very powerful,

Has the latest technology,

Very fast,

But it does not have a lot of memory,

Which means that it can only focus on one thing at a time.

Whereas the subconscious mind is not that powerful,

Is more subtle,

But it has a lot of memory.

So they both complement each other.

But let's say that you're starting to learn Spanish and you want to talk to someone,

To greet someone,

Or say you go to a store and you want to buy something.

You may do something like this.

You go in your mind,

How do I say I in Spanish?

Yo.

Okay,

How do I say want?

Quiero.

How do you say milk?

Leche.

So you go to the cashier and say,

Hola,

Yo quiero leche.

But you take a lot of time because you're translating in real time in your mind,

Because you are not that familiar with the language.

Right?

And another example,

Let's say that you're learning to drive,

Especially if you're driving a stick,

You know,

The ones that you need to change,

Switch gears.

At first,

It's overwhelming because you need to because you need to look at three mirrors and you need to pay attention to the revolutions on the machine so you don't,

The engine,

So you don't force it too much.

And then you have to put your left foot on the clutch.

And then,

You know,

First,

Second,

Third,

And whatever.

But as in language and driving,

After some time,

You get so used to it,

That the process becomes transparent to you.

You may start just speaking to people in other language without thinking about those words.

You just say,

Hola,

Quiero leche.

Or hola,

Como estas?

Hello,

How are you?

And you don't think about them because you are very used to it.

And that means that your subconscious mind has already accepted that new program,

Software,

Or whatever you want to call it.

And since it's in the subconscious mind,

You can forget about it.

You can let it go.

And that's amazing.

But what happens if you learn a new language,

And what you learn is wrong,

The process to correct that information is going to be a little difficult,

Because you need to unlearn and then learn the right way.

Let's say it's very common for people that speak Spanish like I do as a native language.

We tend to use the Y to pronounce it with a very strong sound,

Like if it were a J.

Let's say if I go to the States,

Or I don't know,

Maybe the UK,

And someone says,

Would you like some coffee?

I could say yes,

Instead of yes,

Because we're used to pronouncing the letter Y in a very strong way.

If we say cast as the one you get when you break a bone,

In Spanish,

It's yes,

So it's written with a Y.

But if someone that speaks only English reads that word,

They would say yes,

So and not yes,

So right.

So those type of things that you incorporate in your everyday life become very difficult to change,

Because most of the time we're not aware of them.

Going back to the example of driving,

Once you know how to drive,

Additionally to driving,

You can turn on the radio,

You can be with other people in your car and carry a conversation without losing focus.

And some people even dare to text and drive,

Which I don't recommend.

But anyways,

That's the power of the internet.

That's the power of the subconscious mind.

So what does that have to do with today's teaching?

We have several beliefs about our lives,

Or about certain things that are not serving us.

Some people may think that after a certain age,

You are not eligible to find new jobs,

Or at least good paying jobs.

Other people may think that if they are too young,

They will not be able to be their own boss.

And as we know,

Those are not true.

Because you have at least heard of people that when they were maybe in their 60s or 70s,

Were able to get a very decent job,

Or other people that became millionaires when they were in their early 20s.

So if other people were able to do that,

That means that you can do that too.

And the only thing that is holding you back is that belief that you acquired,

And it's so merged with the way you think that it's even difficult to be able to be aware that it's running in the background.

So I have a proposition for you.

I have a technique that I want to share with you.

And the first goal that we need to pursue with this technique is to be aware of those beliefs that are blocking our progress,

That are not allowing us to thrive.

And once you have identified them,

Once you're able to be sensitive enough through your feelings to realize,

Oh,

Now I'm thinking about something that is not helping me to achieve my goals.

Once you achieve that finesse in your thoughts,

Then you can change it.

So how do I recommend you to go about this?

Quite easy.

Set up a recurring alarm or timer,

Either on your cell phone,

Your watch,

Or whatever.

And just make sure that you choose an appropriate time that it will not interfere with your activities.

For example,

You could set up an alarm to go off every hour,

But if you can afford it,

Do it every half an hour.

Or if it's that's too much,

Then every two hours,

Every three hours,

And so on.

Now,

Whenever the alarm goes off,

There are three questions that I recommend you to ask yourselves.

And if you want to make this a more powerful process,

Do this when no one else is around,

Unless you want them to think that you're crazy because you're going to talk to yourself.

And ask yourself these three questions out loud,

But also write them down.

And if you want,

Write down the answer as well.

So what's the first question?

How am I feeling right now?

If you are overwhelmed by negative beliefs,

It might be very likely that you're not feeling great.

You may be feeling sad.

You may be feeling powerless.

So once you have asked that question and identified how you're feeling in this moment,

So let's do something.

Just take five seconds and think about how you feel right now in this very single moment.

And I can tell you that I feel happy,

But I'm still a little bit stressed out because at the beginning of the broadcast,

I had an issue with the audio.

I'm sure I'm going to get rid of that during the meditation.

I can perfectly identify how I feel.

And that brings me to the next question.

What was I thinking,

And maybe still am,

That made me feel this way?

Again,

In my example,

Well,

I'm happy because I'm here with you,

Friends,

But I was also still a little bit stressed out because of what I already said.

Now,

Here comes the kicker.

Third question.

Is there anything else I could be thinking right now to feel better?

Now,

It does not need to be related to the previous thought that was making you feel uncomfortable,

Sad,

Bored,

Or whatever.

It could be about something completely different.

I could say,

Yeah,

I mean,

In order to ease my stress due to the technical hiccup,

I can think that in a few minutes I'm going to be meditating with you and just enjoying the moment.

Or I could say,

Well,

I'm thinking about ordering a pizza,

And that's going to make me really happy.

So,

As you can see,

You can think about anything.

It could be something from your past,

From your future,

Or you can focus.

I can take this glass of water and say,

Well,

It's really cool how my fingers look through the magnification of the water on the glass.

It doesn't matter.

It could be something trivial,

Something profound.

The purpose is to find another thought,

To find a better feeling thought.

And if your discomfort is too strong,

Finding a thought that would make you feel excited is not within your vibrational reach,

And that's okay.

Just as if you are looking at a fly of stairs,

You cannot jump from the first one to the last one in one go.

The distance is too far away.

But you can go one step at a time until you reach your goal.

Summary.

Set up an alarm to go off every whatever time,

But to be a redundant alarm.

And once it goes off,

You ask yourself,

How am I feeling?

Now,

If you're feeling great,

End the process and wait till the next alarm to go off.

But if you're not feeling good,

Then ask yourself,

What was I thinking that made me feel this way?

And your third question will be,

What can I think right now that will make me feel better?

Very simple.

And how is this useful?

Well,

Once you are in a better feeling place,

Once you feel good enough,

Then you can tackle that belief that is blocking your progress.

Because if you were to try to wrestle that thought to the ground while you're still feeling bad,

All you're going to do is amplify that emotion.

Because the law of attraction is going to bring more like that.

That's how it works.

You are broadcasting every single moment.

And if you're broadcasting happiness,

Then the law of attraction is going to say,

Hey,

Look at this,

Look at this,

Look at this.

All these match the emotion that you're sending me.

But if you're feeling bad,

Then the same thing is going to happen.

You're going to receive thoughts that are going to reinforce that negative feeling,

That unpleasant feeling.

All right?

So once you're feeling good,

You have a chance to start working on that paradigm that is blocking you.

Let's say if you're going back to one of the examples,

I'm too old to get a good job.

Then you can start rationalizing,

That's not true.

So many people are able to get good jobs,

Even older than me.

So I have no reason to think that.

Whatever happened in my past does not need to define my present and my future.

And one thing that I want to mention,

Everything that we believe was not accepted immediately by the subconscious mind.

A process of repetition was required for that.

So with the same process,

You're going to be able to change any belief.

I remember a few years ago,

My point of view about fasting was that it was very bad for you.

And why is that?

Because when I was a Boy Scout,

When I was eight years old,

One day I left home without eating anything.

And that was a very physical intensive routine with the Boy Scouts.

So by 2 p.

M.

,

When we finished,

I crashed.

I felt awful.

This is how I remember this,

Maybe that is not true,

You know,

Your mind kind of changes your memories.

But I remember that I started seeing everything red.

And then I had a very acute pain in my stomach.

And I was feeling so bad.

Then when my dad picked me up,

He said,

Do you want ice cream?

And I said,

No.

And the ones that know me,

That would be,

No,

That's not possible.

Juan Pablo said that.

I will never say no to ice cream.

So that gave me a belief that fasting was bad.

And many years later,

I was browsing through YouTube and a suggestion about fasting was sent to me.

And I didn't even watch the video.

But then it kept suggesting me the same video.

And I was like,

OK,

Let's watch it.

And after watching it,

I was like,

Nah,

This is,

Nah,

Nah.

But because I watched a video about fasting,

YouTube said,

Here are more and more and more.

Here,

There you go,

More videos.

And I started watching more videos and more videos and more videos.

And after a few days,

I decided to try fasting.

And now I have been intermittent fasting for almost six years with great results.

So as you can see,

I had both beliefs,

But I needed repetition to change the belief and to decide to take on this beautiful practice,

Which I now benefit from.

And that's the same method that you need to use to change your belief.

That simple.

As a musician, there are occasions and situations when I have negative beliefs that I will make mistakes and am that I am unable to perform well. This impacts my playing so that passages I play well at other times, fall apart. It has plagued me since childhood as my playing was criticised to the point I believed I was no good. Over the past 10 years I have taken up a new instrument and received much encouragement but the negative thought persists. I will use your technique now every time I catch myself during my studies or before a performance. Thank you so much. Namaste!😊

Some very useful analogies that help simplify a concept that can be confusing to grasp. I will look to see if you also have a course here that goes deeper than time allowed here. Thank you for doing this. It is helpful!

Interesting point of view. I think we have many issues at the same time some of them are nice and happy and others not. The thing is to identify the ones that are not and work on them to change. Super good advice Juan Pablo, I will practice it.
