We often take for granted this human birth that we have got.

Often we miss the preciousness of what we have got here with us.

Today let's take some time out and sit back and think and appreciate what we have got here with this human birth,

This human life.

Take a comfortable meditation posture.

Let your back be straight,

Your eyes are gently closed.

You can sit on the cushion or maybe you can just lie down.

Take a couple of deep breaths and calm down your body.

Deep inhalations and deep exhalations.

Let's just take few minutes to concentrate our minds on our breath.

Feel the movement of your breath either on your abdomen or nostrils or on your chest.

Feel the movement of inhalation and exhalations.

And feel the sensation which your breath creates in your body.

Don't worry too much about your thoughts.

Just give 10 minutes to your body,

To your space and to your peace of mind.

This human birth,

This human life that we have got is so precious.

Think about the body that you have got.

The different organs in your body which help you to see,

Hear,

Think,

Touch and feel.

What would we have done without them?

The fact that they are healthy and nourished is so beautiful.

Think about the potential of your human body.

It's because of this human body that we travel,

We laugh.

It's because of this body that you are able to achieve our goals,

Practice our things and succeed.

Feel its potential and also feel the freedom you have compared to an animal.

Imagine if you were born as an animal,

Any animal,

Tied up somewhere,

Not able to understand things,

Not able to work towards any goals.

Now do you feel the preciousness of this human body,

This human birth which is in store for us.

Now take a moment and think about how fortunate you are that you have access to the teachings of the Dharma.

How precious is that,

That we are living in an age where we can read philosophy of different religions,

Different psychologies.

We have access to so many brilliant coaches and online channels like these which help us,

Which support us.

How fortunate we are that we have the mental faculties to understand and follow the teachings.

Sometimes I laugh when monasteries in India say that we only get people from outside India.

It's so unfortunate that Indians are not exploring the teachings as much despite the easy access,

Which you are sitting thousands of kilometres away listening to this,

Listening to different Dharma teachings.

How fortunate that we have access to such beautiful teachings of the Dharma.

And now think about how precious your conditions are to be born in a country,

In a place which allows you to believe and study what you want.

It's sad that there are places where this freedom is not there or where unfortunately wars have taken so much times of their life.

So unfortunate.

Think about so many conducive conditions you have.

A house,

Food,

Time,

Wealth.

There are so many in this world who don't have it.

We are by no means deriding them.

We are just fortunate that we have it and at the same time we feel compassion for all the others who don't have.

Think about the good karma you have created that you are here listening to these teachings.

The karma to listen,

The karma to indulge your time in your well-being.

The karma for this devotion and the karma of having an open mind.

There are millions who are not interested but how fortunate you are that you have these precious conditions.

Ponder upon these.

Feel immense gratitude of having a precious human body and the precious conditions that you are here and you're able to work towards a better today and tomorrow.

But we often take this life for granted.

We think God has created it but the reality is that your own karma has created it.

We think this will never end but I'm sure you know this is not true.

We think we will be reborn as humans only which is incorrect as well.

It's our own karma which will decide.

So take a moment and see if you're using this precious human birth of yours to its highest potential.

Make a commitment to yourself.

I have caught this precious human birth,

This precious human life,

This body,

This precious conditions.

I'm going to make the most of it.

I'm going to utilize this precious thing to achieve my goals,

My potential,

My happiness.

My teacher says this human birth is more precious than diamonds.

What can diamonds do for you?

Can they help you achieve your goals?

No.

But this human body,

This human life can help you achieve your goals.

This is the true worth of your human birth,

Human body and the conditions that you have.

Much more precious than the diamonds.

So get up now,

Feel the precious things you have got which can help you to achieve all the goals and make the most of it.

Whenever you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Take a couple of deep breaths and take this wonderful feeling along with you.

Thank you for practicing with me and have a great day ahead.
