This course is a guided meditation program introducing you to the first three foundational practices of Anahata.
Its objective is to show you how to develop inner stillness,
Wideness and silence.
It's a condition for establishing inner peace.
Advanced practices of Anahata are built upon this foundation.
Anahata is a mind training program based on Sri Aurobindo's integral yoga.
Sri Aurobindo is an Indian sage,
A revolutionary yogi who synthesized all the yogic traditions of India and developed integral yoga.
He expounds on the importance of inner silence and peace as the foundation for developing yogic consciousness.
For those who do not know what yogic consciousness is,
For the sake of simplicity,
You may consider it as a higher range of consciousness that is beyond our rational intelligence.
Our power of reasoning intelligence depends on systematic,
Logical and linear thinking and it is immensely powerful.
Our present civilization is built on this power of thinking and we are passing through our age of reason.
However,
There are even more powerful and brilliant ranges of cognition available to us that are beyond the reasoning intellect.
But in order to access these higher ranges of consciousness,
We must go beyond the linear process of the reasoning intellect.
In fact,
We must establish in ourselves deep inner silence and peace so that the higher ranges of consciousness beyond the power of reason can begin to develop within us.
These higher order faculties are there lying dormant within us and they can be systematically developed through yogic training.
Broadly speaking,
We may call these higher faculties as intuition.
The cultivation of inner silence and peace,
Not as a momentary experience,
But as an established inner condition,
An inner state,
Is a prerequisite for developing intuitive consciousness.
An intellectual understanding of this idea is in itself insufficient to open to the higher ranges.
You need to train the mind in a systematic way with great patience.
You must have noticed that when you are not consciously using the mind with intentional systematic thinking and when you leave the mind to itself,
An untrained mind will go on a random habitual verbal chatter all the time.
This incessant stream of mental chatter not only disperses and drains your energy,
But also blocks the light of higher consciousness.
However,
Wrestling or fighting with your thoughts to silence the mind is not very effective because the willpower of our mind is very limited in its capacity.
It can momentarily stop the stream for a short period,
But when you relax your mental effort,
The chatter will renew as before.
However,
There is another way,
The way of integral yoga,
In which you learn to open to stillness,
Wideness,
Silence and peace,
So that they can settle within you.
In proportion to the growth of inner silence and peace,
You will come in touch with your true being,
Its guidance,
Its light and its force in your daily life.
This introductory course systematically guides you step by step into an inner state of deep relaxation,
Stillness,
Whiteness and silence,
Which are the conditions necessary for inner peace to gently settle within.
The more you cultivate inner silence and peace,
The more you will be able to come in touch with your deeper and higher ranges of consciousness and develop the powers of intuition.
It prepares the ground for you to receive the light and force of your true being beyond the surface personality and let it flow into your daily life activities,
Thereby empowering you with the skill of enjoying life's wondrous journey of adventure from a place of deep inner silence and peace.
