Hello,
My name is Janie Clark with Mama Metta and I am so happy that you are here.
Today we will be practicing a very easy and simple breathwork technique called color breathing.
It's something I love to do with my six year old.
I started it a couple years ago with him and I've also done it multiple times with adults.
It's something super simple and easy and fun for any age.
All you have to do is simply note an emotion that you are feeling.
Label an emotion such as anger,
Frustration,
Sadness,
Being tired,
Whatever it might be and you can associate a color with that emotion.
And then you just pick another emotion,
What you want to be feeling such as happiness,
Peace,
Calm,
Excitement,
Well being.
And you associate another color with that emotion.
And now let's practice.
On the inhale,
Breathe in the color you desire,
The emotion that you desire to be experiencing.
And on your exhale,
You will breathe out and imagine the color you are no longer wanting to feel or experience.
Again on the inhale you focus and visualize the color you desire filling up your body.
On your exhale,
You imagine and visualize the color you do not want.
It's leaving your body.
And again on your inhale you fill up your lungs with the color you desire.
On your exhale,
You release the color you are letting go of.
And again,
Breathing in,
You fill up your body,
Your arms and your legs with the color you desire.
When you let go,
Release the color that you want to let go of.
And again,
Breathing in,
Filling up every ounce of your body with the color you want to be feeling.
Relax and release and let go of the color that you do not want.
You can imagine it leaving the bottoms of your feet,
Top of your head.
One more time,
Breathing in the color you want to be experiencing.
On your exhale,
Let it all the way out.
And note the way that you feel now.
Sometimes this practice needs to be a bit longer.
Sometimes you only need just a few breaths of this exercise.
Take a moment and note how your body feels now.
Thank you for joining me.
