There are times when life can feel a little too much.
When things seem to pile up on top of us and we feel like we're sinking.
It's during these times that turning within,
Connecting to spirit,
Deepening the breath,
Can really help.
Even if you don't currently feel the weight of the world upon you,
Perhaps you'd like to take a moment now to notice where you feel tension in your life.
Consciously acknowledge a situation that you know is draining your energy.
Perhaps it's work,
Relationships,
Family,
Your health.
In the holding on to what needs to be released,
We often block our ability to receive what we deeply need.
To let go means to allow something to move through and out of you.
Today's meditation invites you to release resistance to letting go so you can open your grip,
Dropping what you don't need and making space for what you truly yearn for.
Deep,
Grace-filled peace.
Let's begin.
If you haven't already done so,
Go ahead now and close down your beautiful eyes.
As you listen to the sound of my voice and you feel the support of the chair beneath you,
Allow your body to settle in now and relax.
Even with a busy mind,
You can start to feel your level of awareness deepening.
At your own pace,
Notice the ebb and flow of your breath as it begins to expand to fill your chest and belly.
Breathing in and breathing out and turning your focus inward.
Go ahead and bring your awareness now to your body.
Sense into the tension you've been holding on to.
In order to release this,
Firstly,
I invite you to amplify it.
This may feel counterintuitive,
Just trust me.
Let's begin by clenching your hands into fists.
Raise your shoulders to your ears.
Squeeze tightly as you screw up your face at the same time.
Then hold it.
Hold your breath.
Hold your body.
Feel the restriction for three,
Two,
One,
And then release.
One,
And then release.
That's right.
Taking a deep breath in and releasing with an audible sigh as you let go.
Wriggle your body to release a little more.
Begin to allow yourself to loosen the grip.
You don't need to hold on so tightly,
Do you?
Taking in a full,
Deep breath and then energetically imagine yourself being washed with a waterfall of light.
Removing the last remnants of tension,
Stress,
Uncertainty.
I wonder what color you would choose to represent release.
Soothing blues,
Calming yellows,
Purifying white.
Whatever you choose will be right for you.
Breathe.
Open.
Surrender.
Release.
That's right.
Feels good to let go,
Doesn't it?
And in the joy of letting go comes the joy of opening to something greater within yourself.
And that something greater is you.
Calm.
Clear.
Strong.
Grace-filled.
You.
