Hello.

This is an active meditation designed to put you in a place of flow and ease so that you may have a wonderful session making your art today.

Find a quiet location and grab a pen and paper.

You're going to need it.

We are going to set you up for success.

Before I even go into it,

I want you to know that your job is not to be creative.

Rather your job is to create an environment in which creativity is inevitable.

Here are the steps to do that.

Step one,

Clear your mind.

The easiest way that I've found to do this is to write down all of the things that occupy my mind.

You can write down things about your job,

Things about maybe your bills,

Issues that you're having right now with loved ones,

Deadlines,

Insecurities,

Errands.

Write them all down.

Take your time and make sure that everything that is occupying your mind is on that piece of paper.

If you need to pause this recording to do so,

Feel free.

Take your time and make sure that everything that is occupying your mind is on that piece of paper.

Take your time and make sure that everything that is occupying your mind is on that piece of paper.

Once everything that's on your mind is now on the paper,

You now have permission to erase it from your mind because you know it's captured.

Trust that leaving it on the paper will do you good and you can put all of those concerns back when we're finished.

3.

Visualize what you would like to create.

What is the end result?

Today you're not working on a project,

But you're completing a specific task.

Look at the amount of time that you have to work and think what task can you complete today.

Like a hundred percent complete and visualize what that would look like and just sit there.

Step 5.

What did it take to powerfully complete this task?

Grab your paper and your pen again.

I want you to write down all the steps that you can think of and not just the obvious ones.

For instance,

Did you need to clean your supplies?

Did you need to mix some paint?

Do you need to collect musical samples?

Do you need to set up a green screen?

All of these are steps that it takes to complete this task.

Take your time and write those down.

Again,

If you need to pause this in order to do so,

Feel free.

Step 6.

Try which tasks are most confronting,

The ones that you really don't want to do.

Is there any way that you can make these tasks easier or more fun?

Sometimes that's not always the case,

But sometimes with a little creativity you actually can do that.

The ones that are most confronting,

I want you to do those first.

Circle those on the page.

You're going to handle as many of those as you actually can before you can get to the ones that you're looking forward to.

Treat it as if doing the confronting task is the work and doing the tasks that seem easy and fun,

That's your reward for doing the difficult ones.

If you do it this way,

Your momentum will really take off and you'll be able to complete your task powerfully by the end of the day.

Once you have that lined up,

I want you to clear your mind again.

I want you to see the person that you are going to be five years from now if you keep working at your arc,

Hardcore every day.

That person is proud of you for the work that you're doing to create who they are.

They're rooting for you and they're actually a little bit jealous because this is the fun part,

The part that's uncertain,

The part that has discovery,

The part where your growth is exponential.

They look at you in awe because you don't know what's coming around the corner yet you're still working.

Enjoy every moment and have a wonderful session today.

Much love.

Wow! I was just excited to find a meditation in this genre that speaks to what I'm experiencing. But after doing the meditation I'm even happier for this necessary session. I feel happier and more free. Thank you

Perfect. Thank you so much! I was in a lot of physical pain and distress this morning, trying not to catastrophize. I was upset that my body wasn’t allowing me to enjoy a solitary walk in nature or go to a free workshop on filmmaking that only comes once a year. Then I listened to this and started taking notes. My brain was entirely redirected to my creative vision, passion and goals for myself - not for any external validation or reward. My symptoms completely went away . This recording reminded me of the power of the creative force that exists in all of us, and that the choice to align with this energy through the smallest action can really transform our experience of the moment and outlook on the day. You should … if it’s on your heart to do so… design a course! Your approach is uniquely pragmatic and it’s clear you practice what you preach. Keep doing what you’re doing. You matter. It makes a difference (I am saying this to myself right now too). Have a peaceful and productive day. And Thank you again.

This really helped me clear out the brain clutter and static energy between me and the creative process. Thank you so much.
