This is a meditation for when your heart needs some comfort. Whether you are feeling emotionally exhausted or drained, or simply a little stretched thin by the weight of some heavy emotions, this gentle guided visualization will offer some space to process and reconnect with what you need. In this space, it is safe for you to soften, to express, and to receive in whichever ways your heart yearns. So take this moment to breathe and come home to you.

Hello and welcome to the space.

My name is Maya and I'm going to be guiding you through this meditation today.

So this meditation is specifically supportive if your heart is feeling a little tired,

A little achy,

If you are in need of some tenderness.

We are going to wrap your heart in comfort today.

Alright?

So this meditation is just a really beautiful one to receive as much as you can.

There is not really much for you to do,

Just let the visuals emerge from behind your eyes as we get into it and see what comes for you.

To begin,

I'll invite you to just get settled into your space.

Make sure that you are somewhere where you will not be disturbed for a few minutes and that you feel safe to relax and just really be here.

When you feel ready,

You can soften your gaze so that it rests somewhere on the horizon or you can gently close your eyes.

Let yourself settle here in this moment.

See how it feels to be with yourself today.

There is no right or wrong way to do this meditation,

Just as there is no good or bad way to be.

Whatever is present for you today,

It is okay.

There is nothing you need to fix or change about yourself.

You can let yourself receive exactly as you are.

So I'm going to invite you to take your right hand and just place it over your heart space,

Over your chest.

I'm going to bring the attention and awareness down into the breath.

Imagine that you are breathing in and out through your heart space.

So there's no need to force to push or pull your breath to be a certain rhythm.

You may find through focusing your attention on the breath,

That it naturally begins to soften and deepen.

We're going to stay here for a few moments.

So just allow yourself to relax into the breath.

When thoughts come up as they are prone to do,

Just let them pass.

Gently bring your attention back down into the breath.

Beautiful.

You can let that go.

Just let your hand rest down in your lap.

And we're going to bring your attention now to a visualization.

So going to imagine yourself standing in this room.

It's someplace that you feel very safe.

There's lots of warmth and soft lighting.

Pillows and blankets are strewn all over the floor.

Maybe there's a nice cozy couch in the corner.

And inside this room,

You find there is an aspect of you that has emerged before you.

They are the embodiment of your heart.

So you can take them in.

Notice what age they are.

If they are you when you were younger.

Or perhaps they're a mirror image of who you are today,

But somehow softer around the edges.

You can take in the color of their eyes,

The expression that sits on their face.

Just notice how they are holding themselves.

Are they slouching?

They have their shoulders curled in forwards,

Hovering around their chest.

Do they appear sad or tired?

Or are they vibrant,

Joyful,

Expansive?

Do they have a playful energy about them?

Or maybe this aspect of you has thorns sticking off their back.

Whatever visual comes to mind,

Don't judge it.

Just let it be.

Notice how it makes you feel.

You're going to invite this aspect of you to sit with you.

You can find a nice cozy spot on the floor or curl up on the couch together if that is more comfortable for you.

Before you get too settled in,

You are going to pick up some blankets in your arms and carry them over with you.

Let your heart know that you are there to sit with them,

That you have no judgment.

And you also understand if they just want some space.

So take this time to notice what it is that they need.

If they are open to it,

You can begin to wrap them in blankets.

Just create a little nest of pillows around their body and let them feel so held,

Feel so safe.

Perhaps you make them a cup of tea,

Place the warm mug between their hands.

Let them know that you see them.

Alternatively,

If it is anger that is surfacing,

If the embodiment of your heart to be angry and harsh,

If they resist softness,

You can give them space to throw something.

You can hand them a pillow to punch.

You can let them know that it's safe to scream,

Express whatever it is that they need to get off their chest.

Let them throw a tantrum if that's what they need.

Let them feel your love even as you watch them express this hard emotion.

And witness what emerges on the other side.

When your heart feels safe to express itself,

How does it soften?

What does it ask for?

Where does it hurt?

And just allowing these answers to rise up in you.

If not today,

Then in the coming days.

You can see if there's any last thing that your heart wants from you.

Thank it for being present with you here today.

And just knowing that you can always come back to this space.

You can always give more love to your heart if that's what's needed.

You can give yourself space to express these needs beyond this container of this meditation.

You leave your heart in a soft,

Cozy space.

And the image begins to dissolve before you.

Yet you feel an awareness of the warmth continue to radiate through your chest as you return to your body.

And feel your sits bones rooted into the chair beneath you.

Feel the weight of your arms in your lap.

Place both hands together over your heart space.

Just thank yourself for showing up for you today.

Thank you for creating this space to give yourself comfort,

To sit with your heart and honor its needs.

Bowing your head down towards your heart.

You can stay here for as long as you feel called to.

And when you are ready,

You can open your eyes.
