Good morning everyone again.
Thank you so much for joining.
Let's dive into our meditation practice beginning with getting into a position that's most comfortable for you making sure your back is straight,
Your neck is straight and your posture is in a relaxed kind of stance and then you can choose to close your eyes if that helps you concentrate and and or you can leave the eyes open if that's what you prefer.
Now take all your attention all your focus and place it on the breathing sensations taking a long breath in holding and breathing out one more time a long breath in holding noticing what's present in your mind in your body and breathing out one last time taking a long breath in hold acknowledge what's present and if there are lingering thoughts emotions from yesterday or a few minutes ago allow them to pass as you breathe out.
Now let the breathing happen naturally no need to hold it no need to control the breath simply observing the incoming breath and the outgoing breath from a distance without a sense of ownership without an agenda without any judgment towards this experience of breath simply watching the breath as if you are watching a river flow by water's coming from one direction coming closer and then flowing in the other direction no need to know where it's coming from no need to know where it's going only observing the flow of breath and being aware of the body the areas where the breath creates sensations how you feel in the stomach or lungs or the nostril being aware letting the breath still the mind as if breath is the anchor going deeper and deeper and deeper into your own presence into the ocean of yourself now I invite you all to open up more for the experiences not just the breath also the sounds in the environment environment different sensations in the body a taste in your mouth or maybe the smell fragrance around you slightly opening the eyes for a moment to look downward and being aware of the objects that are visible being aware of all the sensory information be an open space open awareness where everything is welcome being aware of the unfolding of experience the thoughts one after another the feeling or emotions or sensations or sounds or the touch taste or smell anything and everything is welcome in this open loving space even the resistance or fear or anticipation is welcome identifying with the space with the spacious awareness you are this awareness in which the experiences are unfolding moment by moment No good.
No bad.
There's nothing right or wrong just like the space in your room is accepting of the furniture the windows the books and also the dust and maybe the garbage can space accepts them all as they are so also You are the spacious awareness that is all accepting all loving of these objective experiences of thoughts feelings memories and ideas that come and go noticing the quality of your own awareness to your own self.
Who are you?
What is your nature?
Are you the thoughts and feelings and sensations in the body?
Are you the one aware?
Are you the feelings and ideas and narrations that come and go?
That change Are you the changeless presence?
The one who's noticing them.
Who are you?
Are you the sounds that rise up and change and go down or are you the silence underneath the silence that is here right now the silence that is already there before the sound began and the silence that remains unchanged unaffected after the sounds are over.
What are you?
One can change the furniture in the room the objects can come and go.
Does the space in the room change at all?
The space that is in the room,
Is it separate from the space outside?
The content of the room,
The objects have no bearing on the space.
Space remains as it is untouched unaffected by the changes by the contents.
You are that changeless space You are that limitless space of awareness where everything exists,
Where experiences come and go one after another.
That empty space is unmanifested,
Unseen,
Cannot be experienced the way you experience a chair or a candle or the books.
Space is beyond the mind,
Cannot be grasped by the limited senses.
You can never see the space because you are the space.
You can only be that.
You are that.
Beginningless,
Endless,
Always existing,
Always present,
Always at peace.
Peace is your nature.
No objects,
No experiences,
No outside things can give you the peace.
How can they give you something that you already are?
It can only reflect you.
Just like the moon has no light of its own.
All it does is reflect the Sun.
You are that Sun shining on,
Revealing these experiences,
These objects in front of you.
You shine on your own.
You are independent,
Self-shining.
You do not need anything else to reveal who you are.
You exist on your own.
Remember who you are.
Remember your own nature and be happy,
Be peaceful and be free of suffering.
Now I invite you to wish with me that may all beings realize who they are.
May all beings remember who they are and may all beings be happy,
Be peaceful and be liberated from suffering.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
You can open your eyes and come back to the room when you're ready.
And may you have a wonderful rest of your day,
An amazing week and Happy New Year.
