The purpose of this meditation and poetry is to orient the listener towards nondual awareness that has the same quality as the silence underneath the sounds: no beginning or end. I hope it facilitates your spiritual practice and reminds you of the true nature that lies underneath sensory experiences.

Hello,

I'm Mahib and welcome to the Nonduality Poetry Series.

Today I'll be leading a small guided meditation,

Followed by one of my poems that is pointed towards Nonduality or that invokes Nondual Awareness Experience.

Let's take a position that's most comfortable.

Make sure your back is straight if you're sitting.

Make sure your shoulders are relaxed.

Eyes are closed and all the distractions are awake.

Now take all your attention and all your focus and place it on your breathing sensation.

Take a long breath in,

Hold it for a moment and breathe out.

Another breath in and breathe out.

While being aware of our breathing sensations,

We might notice thoughts and emotions pop in to the consciousness.

When the attention is taken away by them,

Pull it back and place it again on the breathing sensations.

Feel the touch of the breath,

The movement that takes place in your body as a result of breath.

Be fully aware of the breath.

All the thoughts and emotions or memories or experiences that come into the consciousness are bound to go away.

None of them stay there permanently.

And that is an insight we come to after getting deeper into the meditation practice.

So whatever has a beginning and an end is simply an experience.

However the awareness of experience is a different thing altogether.

The awareness has no such beginning or end.

Metaphorically speaking,

A sound such as my voice has a starting point and an ending point.

However the silence underneath did not begin at a point or is not going to end at a point.

The silence was there before the sound arose.

The silence is present while the sound is happening right now and the silence will be there after sound is over.

So everything changes,

Every thought,

Emotion or sensation or any experience that comes into the consciousness,

Into the awareness is bound to change.

And none of the objects of consciousness,

None of these experiences are you.

We often identify with our thoughts or emotions.

But are we that thought or emotion or are we not?

Today's poetry is called Impermanence.

Am I the grass or the dew on top?

Am I the body or mind non-stop?

Am I a person or the image of him?

Am I a purpose or just a whim?

Am I an idea or just another thought?

Am I liberated or in context I am not?

What am I?

I ask every day.

Answers are many but none of them stay.

If it stays then it's not the answer anyway because impermanence is the answer and impermanence is the way.

I hope you enjoyed the meditation and today's poetry and I wish you have a wonderful rest of your day.

See you next time.

Soothing meditation on impermanence with interesting background sounds of water and storm to occupy the mind, ending with poetry.
