Let's begin with taking a position that's most comfortable for you.
If you're sitting,
Make sure that your back is straight.
It's just like if you're.
.
.
Imagine your body like a water pipe.
If the pipe is turned around,
You know the water will not flow.
So if your body is straight,
The energy life force will flow more easily.
So if you're lying down,
Of course you can do the same.
Make sure you're straight and up and you're feeling in a relaxed place,
Relaxed position.
And now when you're in that position,
Make sure to take all your attention,
Take all your focus and place it on the breathing sensations.
Taking a long breath in,
Holding for a second,
Noticing what's present and breathing out.
One more time,
Taking a long breath in,
Holding for a second,
Noticing what's present,
What sensations,
What feelings are here,
Acknowledging them and breathing out.
One more time,
We'll take a long breath in,
Noticing and acknowledging if there is any lingering emotions or sensations or tightness or tension anywhere in your body-mind system.
With the out-breath,
Letting it go out,
Letting it melt if possible.
Now,
No need to control your breathing,
No need to change it.
Just let the breathing happen as it is.
Let it flow gently without effort,
Effortlessly let the breathing happen as it is.
And simply make sure to be aware,
To be observing and noticing the flow of breath,
The touch of your breath in the body,
The movement of breath,
The rhythm of breath,
The arising and passing of breathing in your body.
We are simply noticing,
Being aware.
Just like sitting on top of a tiny bridge that is above a river creek,
We can look down at the river,
We can look down at the water flow arising from one side and passing on to the other side.
We are looking at our breathing with that very attitude.
Not controlling it,
Not trying to change it,
Not judging the breath flow to be good or bad,
To be deep or shallow,
Observing it as it is,
Seeing the reality as it is.
Seeing the arising,
The starting point of a breath and the ending of the breath.
Seeing the process for what it is without agenda,
Without expectation,
Without hope for this breathing experience to be something else than what it is.
And if you realize there is hope or expectation or anticipation or anxiety or fear about how the experience will unfold,
How this practice might unfold,
If you realize there is something there,
Allow it to flow away with the breath.
Let it go.
And simply go back to be the observer,
Be the witness of this breathing process.
The state of being a witness is called Sakshi Bhaava in Sanskrit.
So be the Sakshi,
Be the witness of this breathing process.
See it arise,
Stay for a few moments and pass away.
The arrival and departure of the process of breath,
Being aware of every single breath moment by moment.
Being aware of the gaps between your breaths.
In those small gaps,
You are aware of the next breath arising and closing.
Noticing that pause in the middle out of which the next breath arises and goes back into the same pause,
The same silence.
Looking into the gaps between your breaths.
It's just like looking into the gaps between the sounds.
Out of this nothingness arises something,
An experience,
The breath,
The sound,
The experience of being this person in this world.
And the same goes back into the silence,
Into the nothingness.
Being aware of these waves that are arising out of the vast infinite ocean that you are and how the wave goes back into you,
Merges back into you.
Noticing how the feelings,
The emotions,
The thoughts,
The body sensations,
The experience of breath arises in the experience,
Stays here for a moment or so.
And goes back into you,
The vast emptiness,
The vast nothingness,
The beginningless,
Endless ocean of existence.
The one who is aware,
The one who is noticing,
The one who is simply present,
Inquiring into that very nature.
The nature of the one who sees everything but is unseen by the eyes.
The nature of the one who hears all the sounds and such but who is unheard of by the ear.
The one who is aware of all the taste and touch experiences that arise in your experience but the one who cannot be tasted objectively like a food.
The one who cannot be touched like an object.
That one is you who is aware of experiences of taste and touch,
Of breath,
Of things and thought,
Of this moment and this moment.
And this moment.
The one who is aware of time itself,
The arising and passing of each moment.
The one who is aware of past experiences,
The experiences of the present and the experiences that might happen in the future.
The space,
The feel in which these three stages of time exist,
That feel is timeless beyond time.
That is your nature,
That is who you are beyond time,
Beyond space,
Beyond comprehension of the limited mind.
The one who is aware of the thoughts arising and passing,
Thoughts of clarity or confusion but the one who cannot be thought of.
The one who is aware of all the life experiences,
All experiences that are objective in nature,
Like thoughts,
Like sounds,
Like the tastes and touch.
The one who is subjective always remains behind your eyes,
Behind the objective experiences,
The one subject.
The one who sees it all,
The seer,
But the one who cannot be seen like an object in front of you,
Inquiring into that very nature,
Inquiring into who you really are.
And each time the mind gives you ideas and thoughts and answers or conclusions,
Asking who is aware of these ideas,
Asking who is aware of these answers and conclusions or judgments about the experience.
And letting the mind merge with the feel of awareness,
Letting the mind merge with your true nature,
The one who is present,
The one who is aware,
The one who is always here,
Always noticing,
The one who is beginningless,
Endless,
Who is aware of the beginnings and ends of experiences,
Who is aware of the changes that are happening in the experience of mind and body,
The one who is changeless,
Simply noticing these changes,
Abiding in that very self,
Resting in yourself,
Being yourself.
To listen,
You have to be silent.
To see,
You have to be still.
And to understand,
You have to be empty.
To be silent,
To be still,
And to be empty is to be yourself,
The one without a second,
The one,
Non-dual awareness,
The one presence,
The one who sees it all,
The one who is the essence of all.
That is your nature.
That is who you are.
Remember who you are.
Remember who you are.
Remember who you are and be that.
Be that.
May you remember who you are all day long,
All week long,
All life long,
And may you reside,
May you enjoy the spaciousness,
The bliss,
The peace that comes so naturally in this abidance with yourself.
And may you be free of the temporary identification with mind or body and be free of the suffering that comes out of this identification.
Now I invite you all to wish with me that may all beings of this world,
May all beings visible or invisible,
Big or small,
Realize who they are,
Remember who they are,
And may they all be free of suffering,
And may they all find the real peace,
Real happiness within.
May all be enlightened.
May all be free.
You can open your eyes when you are ready.
Thank you so much for practicing with me.
Thank you so much for joining me this morning.
