A daily meditation practice on Shakyamuni Buddha.
So we commence by taking refuge and generating bodhichitta.
Bodhichitta is a mind that strives to achieve enlightenment,
Which is the complete abandonment of all negativities and the perfection of all good qualities.
That's what enlightenment is.
So bodhichitta is a state that can be achieved by anyone and it stands for the benefit of all sentient beings,
Understanding that we all have that potential.
So it's the most altruistic mind that one can generate.
Because of the scope,
We want to do that for all sentient beings and because of the qualities that we want to possess.
So try to take a moment and inspire yourself with the prospect of this possibility.
Understanding that just as we suffer,
All other beings suffer too.
And probably we want to do something about it,
Right?
So here we're saying,
You can.
You can train and transform your mind,
So it becomes a suitable vessel for service.
And that service may be extremely effective.
So like that,
Try to invite that inspiration into your heart.
I can become who I want to be,
Who I truly want to be,
Not who others expect me to be.
My pierced essence can be cultivated.
So like that,
Taking refuge in the Three Jewels,
Buddha,
Dharma and Sangha means that we seek out for outer guidance and protection.
So we can tap in our inner refuge,
Which are our good qualities.
These are going to be our protection.
And so with that in mind,
We recite that verse three times.
I go for refuge until I'm enlightened.
To the Buddha,
The Dharma and the Supreme Assembly,
By my practice of giving and other perfections,
May I become a Buddha to benefit all sentient beings.
I go for refuge until I'm enlightened.
To the Buddha,
The Dharma and the Supreme Assembly,
By my practice of giving and other perfections,
May I become a Buddha to benefit all sentient beings.
I go for refuge until I'm enlightened.
To the Buddha,
The Dharma and the Supreme Assembly,
By my practice of giving and other perfections,
May I become a Buddha to benefit all sentient beings.
The four immeasurables.
So the four immeasurables are immeasurable equanimity,
Immeasurable love,
Immeasurable compassion,
Immeasurable joy,
And we train in these very vast minds that are like medicine for our hearts.
So like that.
To begin with,
Bring your awareness to the center of your chest at the level of your heart chakra.
And visualize as if you will be breathing in and out from your spiritual heart.
So then when you breathe in,
Now you're breathing in equanimity for yourself.
Think,
May I be free from attachment for friends and hatred or aversion for enemies,
For the beings that challenge me,
That I find them difficult,
And you breathe that into your heart.
And then we breathe out and we recite together immeasurable equanimity.
May all sentient beings abide in equanimity,
Free from attachment for friends and hatred for enemies.
And you breathe that equanimity into the world.
May all sentient beings abide in that equanimity.
And then you breathe in again into your heart,
And you breathe in self-love.
And you think,
May I have happiness and the causes of happiness.
So the causes of happiness are our good qualities.
So those good qualities that you have and that you're aware of,
Those ones,
You breathe them into your heart,
You make them part of your experience.
Those are the ones we want to cultivate and enhance.
Become aware of what they are and breathe them in.
And imprint your heart with them.
These are the causes of your inner happiness,
Your inner refuge.
And then we breathe out from our hearts and we read immeasurable love together.
May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness.
And you breathe out that love from your heart.
You really wish all beings to be happy and to find the causes of their inner happiness.
You wish them to be well,
Healthy,
Free,
Clear.
And from your heart,
We try to accept all beings just as they are,
Accepting our differences.
Let all beings abide in love for each other and for themselves.
And then once again we breathe in.
And we breathe in self-compassion and think,
May I be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
And the causes of suffering are our detrimental and negative states of mind and patterns.
So just become aware of what they are.
And these are the ones that we are prepared to abandon,
To train our hearts and minds to abandon them gently,
Gradually,
With kindness.
So become aware of what they are and try to create a commitment of abandoning them.
And we can think,
May I be able to take care of my heart,
Of my mind,
So I can be of benefit to others,
Otherwise I will hurt them.
And so with that compassion in mind,
Now from your heart you breathe out,
We're really measuring compassion together.
May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering and you breathe that compassion out.
This genuine compassion that you have in your heart for others.
Seeing that they suffer just as you do.
And they want to be free of that suffering just as you do.
So like that,
Wish them well,
Wish them to be free of whatever is that is tormenting them.
With equanimity make your compassion extensive,
That it reaches even those that have hurt you.
May they be from suffering too.
Because if they hurt me,
It's because probably they are experiencing hurt themselves.
And then once again we breathe in into our hearts and you breathe in joy,
A joy that delights in virtue,
In ethics,
In a good heart,
In your practice.
Breathe in joy into your heart,
Make space for it.
How wonderful all these things are,
How inspiring and beautiful these aspirations are.
Make your heart buoyant.
And then breathe out this joy and we can read immeasurable joy together.
May all sentient beings be inseparable from the happiness that is free from suffering.
So breathe that out,
That joy for all beings to be completely free of what is making them suffer and have happiness.
Because there is where you can find joy.
May all beings have virtuous joy in their hearts,
Achieve liberation and enlightenment,
Delight in virtue.
And so then once we have done our hearts so visible for the practice,
We do the visualization of Shakyamuni Buddha.
At the level of your forehead,
About six feet in front of you sits Shakyamuni Buddha.
You can make his size maybe like 30,
40,
50 centimeters,
Whatever suits you.
His body is in the form of golden light,
Transparent and radiant.
He is sitting cross legged and his right hand is touching a moon disk where he is sitting on and his left hand is holding a bowl full of nectar.
His face is very beautiful,
Smiling and his compassionate gaze is directed at you and directed towards all living beings.
Feel that he is free of all judging,
Critical thoughts and that he accepts you just as you are.
Rays of light of the pure loving kindness,
Compassion and wisdom emanate from every pole of Buddha's body and reach every corner of the universe.
So try to create a conviction,
There is an enlightened being right there.
Visualize a stream of white light emanates from the Buddha's heart and flows into your body through the crown of your head.
This white light is blissful,
Radiant and just the crown of your head completely bathes you.
Visualize that your body has been healed from all disease and your mind is being purified of all worries and negativities.
The Buddha's infinite good qualities flow into every part of your body and mind and you feel blissful and light.
Concentrate on this blissful experience while you recite the mantra.
Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Daya Tha Om Muni Muni Maha Munayeso Ha Next,
Imagine that your body,
Speech and mind have transformed into Buddha's body,
Speech and mind.
Your body becomes luminous,
Golden in colour.
And feel,
I am Buddha.
And identify with the Buddha's enlightened qualities.
Specialise that you have become a being of luminous golden light.
Surrounding you in every direction,
Filling the whole space are all living beings.
And generate great love and compassion for them by recalling that they too want to be free of suffering and problems,
Just as you do.
And want to have happiness and peace of mind,
Just as you do.
At the centre of your chest,
Visualise a sphere of golden light,
Which is a manifestation of your purest compassion and wisdom.
And from that sphere of light,
Golden rays of luminous rays of light reaches all living beings.
Filling them with love and kindness,
Inspiration and strength.
And this light transforms them into Buddhas themselves,
Experiencing complete bliss.
So concentrate on that experience while we recite the mantra,
Which we recite from our hearts.
Daya da oo muni muni,
Maha munayeso ha.
Daya da oo muni muni,
Maha munayeso ha.
Daya da oo muni muni,
Maha munayeso ha.
Daya da oo muni muni,

Daya da oo muni muni,
Maha munayeso ha.
Daya da oo muni muni,
Maha munayeso ha.
I think that all beings have received your light with gratitude and appreciation.
And then visualize that they in turn,
They send their love to you.
And so visualize that you gather back all that golden light into your heart.
You gently gather all that loving light into your heart.
And you're allowing yourself to receive,
To be receptive of it.
So you gather all that light back and you try to stabilize that sphere of luminous golden light at the center of your heart.
Shining always with the most purest loving kindness and care and respect and consideration towards you and all sentient beings at all times.
Your inner refuge.
So throughout the day,
You try to pause at different times and come back to your heart and reestablish that connection.
So maybe right now,
See if you're willing to make a commitment to at least do it once a day.
Choose a moment that you would pause and come back to your heart into that sphere of light.
Choose it right now.
And then try to apply mindfulness to remember.
So we can end this session thinking that whatever we do today,
Until we die,
Until enlightenment,
May come from that heart space of compassionate loving kindness.
And whoever we meet,
May we meet them from our hearts.
So we can dedicate all this merit,
This potential,
For the quick enlightenment of all sentient beings.
Thank you very much.
