In this recording, I walk you through a "one-minute" practice. It is perfect for beginners and those who are meditation-curious. You can use this practice on your own using the timer feature on this app. This pairs perfectly with my other recording, "Five Tips: Establishing a Regular Meditation Practice." Thank you for listening!

Hello,

And thank you so much for tuning in today.

We're going to walk through a one-minute meditation because in an earlier recording titled Five Tips Establishing a Regular Meditation Practice,

I mentioned that starting with just one minute a day is a wonderful way to build this healthy habit and to integrate mindfulness into your life.

So I thought it would be good to walk through what that one-minute meditation could look like for you and where to begin.

So the first step is to check in with yourself and think,

How does it feel to sit in this moment or maybe my body would like to stand or lean against a wall.

Just check in with yourself and suit your needs.

So take a minute to do that.

And then when you're ready,

You can soften your gaze or maybe close your eyes and start to bring your awareness in to your heart center to follow the rhythm of your breath.

Focusing on just noticing what it feels like to breathe in this moment.

When thoughts arise,

And they certainly will,

Just lovingly acknowledge them and let them pass.

Just like a puppy learning how to sit,

So must the mind learn how to be still.

So when these thoughts arise,

Just come back to your breath,

Returning to this anchor point.

And then when you're ready,

You can start to bring your awareness back outwards and open your eyes if you've closed them.

Maybe gently start to move your mind.

Maybe rolling out your neck or tapping your fingers.

Great job.

So that was a great example of a one minute meditation that you can do for your daily practice.

If you haven't listened to the other recording,

I recommend pairing these together.

So you might want to check that out on my teacher profile.

Thank you so much for practicing with me today,

And I wish you so much peace and joy.

I look forward to practicing again with you soon.

Take care.
