What if we acknowledge sadness as a profound invitation to go within ourselves, rather than shun it away? As a deeply human emotion, sadness is far more than an experience we so often wish to live without. It is viscerally grounding and so vastly essential to our being. Come along and join this journey of the unexpected and discover wholistic rest.

Closing your eyes,

Beginning to turn inwards ever so gently,

Taking your time.

In this moment,

You are invited to make the conscious choice to fully give yourself to all that is coming your way in this meditation,

The comfort.

Allow yourself comfort when it comes,

The safety,

The security.

Give yourself permission to feel secure.

Let yourself settle a little more now,

Beginning to acknowledge the sadness that is within ever so gently.

We're here to take it slow by approaching the sadness within,

Little by little.

Always retaining the aspects of safety,

Feeling secure,

Comfort.

This sadness you're experiencing,

Begin to see it within you,

Letting your awareness guide you to wherever it resides.

Even if that happens to be your whole body or a particular area within your body,

Viewing it there from a distance,

Safely,

Securely,

And with a level of comfort you can fathom.

You are here viewing your own sadness,

And since this is a rather abstract way of approaching the emotion of sadness,

Please know there is no need to intellectualize,

Analyze,

Or figure out what it may even mean to view your sadness from a distance.

Simply allow yourself to follow along,

Free from the mind's desire to make sense.

Viewing your sadness from this distance that you have chosen,

Begin to notice what it is what it is you're experiencing,

What your inner eye,

Your mind's eye may see,

What sensations you may notice within your body,

Or whatever else you're experiencing now,

Whether subtle or strong.

Simply observe without judgment.

Simply observe your sadness from a safe,

Comfortable distance.

And when the mind does come in chit-chatting with its fluttery energy,

Or distracting a little too much to your liking,

Then please remember where you just were,

And return by once more becoming aware of your place while observing your sadness from a distance.

And from this very place within,

You are now invited to move closer towards this sadness,

Floating towards it,

Conscious of your space as you're approaching.

And aware of the sensation,

Remaining free from judgment,

Free from analysis,

Simply feeling what is coming as you're getting closer and closer still to the sadness within you.

And going as far as you feel comfortable and safe to do so.

Far enough to feel some of the sadness,

Remaining free from the need to judge,

Free from attaching stories,

Details to the sadness,

And just allowing yourself to experience the,

In a sense,

Pure nature.

A sense of sadness when judgment is taken out of the equation.

Just feeling.

Here,

You are safe.

Here,

You are secure.

Here,

You are feeling the purity of sadness without the fluff.

And each time the mind desires to attach to the fluff,

Each time the mind brings in judgment,

Stories,

Details,

Or analysis,

You may return immediately back to experiencing the purity,

This emotion that makes us so human.

Here and now,

You have the opportunity again to feel,

To simply feel the sadness within.

All human emotions are beautiful within their purity.

It is the mind's judgment that unnecessarily adds,

Convolutes,

And changes our experience of the purity of each and every emotion.

We can feel as human beings.

Sadness in itself is a beautiful invitation inwards,

An invitation to become still,

To acknowledge the landscape within,

Deep within us,

Deep within us,

Acknowledging our ability to not only feel joy and happiness,

But something that has the ability to ground ourselves deep within ourselves.

And when we allow sadness to be felt without the judgment,

And all the other chatter from the mind,

We are gifted with the stillness that sadness can bring forth.

And so here,

I invite you to return your awareness once more towards the sadness within,

The sadness within,

Free from judgment,

Noticing the subtleties that may have shifted just because you have been spending.

Such intimate time with this sadness,

Letting it be,

Letting it be free from judgment and other thoughts.

Can you here and now find a little bit of the stillness and quietude within your sadness?

Rather than avoidance,

Giving yourself a little bit to this inner sadness,

Being with it,

Letting yourself feel even just a fraction of stillness and quietude within.

Judgment is still of no need here.

No judgment nor analysis.

Just being here in this sadness within.

And here beginning to notice your breath.

As you are breathing,

You're breathing your body.

You're breathing your sadness,

Gifting at all this energy that comes through breath.

Let your breath here and now be a peace offering to your own sadness within.

As you're breathing in and out,

Let the speed of your breathing in and out.

Let this be for this sadness.

Let this be a unique way of yours to show this inner sadness that you acknowledge,

That you accept this emotion to some degree.

That you are willing to breathe for it,

Into it.

That you gift it with the energy that comes through breath.

The nuances of peace that come with breath.

So continue here to breathe for yourself,

To breathe into this inner sadness and just feel.

Feeling Feeling the rhythmic flow of in and out breath.

The quietude no matter how subtle it may be that now rests within this sadness.

The peace that you have brought to whatever degree it may be.

There is now some peace within this sadness.

And here you're breathing peacefully for you and your emotion of sadness.

Just feeling remembering that when the mind becomes too active with judgment storytelling or other thoughts you may return within finding your breath again and feeling feeling how this breath of yours is breathing you no action required by you.

This breath is so innate,

Natural and automatic that you can now just be here resting having ventured so courageously into your own sadness having brought some stillness quietude Now is the time to simply rest whether you would like to remain as you are or whether you would like to remain as you are or find a more suitable more comfortable position let your body guide you and throughout all this remember that you are still invited by your own body to feel just feeling feeling feeling yourself being breathed rest now for as long as you need for as long as you desire rest here rest here with your emotion rest here with yourself simply feeling yourself resting
