A song of gratitude.

Perhaps today has not been a good day.

In fact,

It's been a very bad day.

You remember you got so annoyed with your friend when you went to lunch.

It took them forever to make a decision about what they wanted to order.

And then they said they forgot their money.

Could you pay for it this time?

They did the same thing last time.

And you got so angry when your coworker didn't do what they said they would.

And it threw everything off for the rest of the day.

And that person in your life that often tells you what they think you should be doing showed up today and did their controlling thing.

Who do they think they are?

Your boss?

And you felt powerless.

And that same person often abandons you when you go to a social event,

Gets involved with someone else,

And leaves you to fend for yourself.

And also in this very bad day,

Your mother treated you like you were 10 years old.

And you just hate that.

And you had a moment when you forgot something and became afraid that you were going to get dementia just like your grandpa.

And you got really anxious when you started to worry about the state of the world as it seems to fall apart in front of your eyes.

And you worry about what the future might bring.

You felt your whole life was out of control today.

And you couldn't make anything happen.

And it even felt like God hates you.

Why would he allow this?

Ah,

My sweet child.

You know that all of those thoughts and feelings create tension in your body.

So for just a few moments,

Or as long as you like,

I invite you to focus on your breathing as it comes in and as it goes out.

There is no worry.

Your lungs do exactly as they were designed to do in the original blueprint at the time of intelligent creation.

Just notice.

Be aware of the coolness of the air as you breathe in and the warmth as it goes out.

As you breathe in,

Simply be aware of the wonderful vibrating healing color that comes with it.

Whatever color is there is perfectly right for you at this time.

And notice the warmth as you exhale.

Simply notice the tension,

Stress,

And pain in your body.

Notice your head,

Face,

And neck that are tight,

Tense,

Or painful.

The headaches,

The tears in your eyes,

The ear aches,

The frown,

The tight jaw,

The lump in your throat,

The backpack full of heavy rocks that you've carried forever.

Notice the tension on your back and shoulders,

The clenched fists,

The broken heart,

The tight lungs of panic,

Hard to breathe,

And the knot in your stomach.

Understand it is all illusion,

Simply old memories and future fears and the thoughts that you're thinking.

Notice the tension in your abdomen,

Your legs,

Feet,

And toes,

The fight,

Flight,

And freeze that occurs and creates ongoing tension.

Again,

It's all an illusion.

It's over,

Finished.

I invite you to simply take a deep breath and gather it all up from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet.

And as you exhale,

Simply turn it into a warm purple smoke and allow it to flow down your body,

Down your legs and feet,

And into the universe.

Please allow yourself to be more deeply relaxed than you've ever been.

And for now,

I invite you to imagine a sacred place where you feel safe and peaceful.

Perhaps a beautiful mountain meadow surrounded by flowers and trees.

Allow the place to become real to you,

Looking around,

Taking the place in with your eyes.

Feel the fragrance of the vibrant colored flowers surrounding the trees.

Feel the wetness of the soft dew as you move through the beautiful green grass.

And simply enjoy the warmth of the sun upon your skin as you swing your arms in harmony with the rhythm of your legs.

And you hear the rustling of the leaves in the trees from a gentle breeze.

Looking over to your right and over to your left,

Enjoy the song of the birds as they call to each other.

Listen to the trickling of the water as it flows over the rocks in the stream.

And if you choose,

You can sit on a beautiful warm rock to rest.

And as you raise your eyes,

From a far distance you see a shiny being.

And as they approach,

The light intensifies.

It may be male or female.

It may be someone you know,

Or perhaps not.

It doesn't matter.

You feel a rich connection to this brilliant being as they greet you.

You feel the great love that they have for you.

And you know they're here for a purpose.

You know it's safe to tell this light being about your very bad day.

As you tell your story to this compassionate person about being annoyed and angry and controlled and abandoned and feeling fear and anxiety and absolutely powerless,

You know they will understand.

And then this beautiful glowing person begins to sing a song of gratitude and thankfulness.

You feel offended.

This being laughs and says,

Wonderful,

And asks,

What is the opposite of offense?

What?

You struggle to answer.

It would have to be acceptance.

And then this wise glowing person says,

Wonderful,

You got it.

How can you experience acceptance without first being offended?

This beautiful being begins to speak even more.

Do you recall the time before you came to earth?

You sat with God,

Father,

The divine,

And he asked you what you wanted from your experience on this wonderful planet.

And after you pondered for a bit,

You gave him a list.

You wanted to be patient,

Forgiving,

And compassionate.

You wanted to be a powerful person,

One who could stand on their own feet,

Unconditionally loving and courageous,

And be able to let go of things that were not important,

And be peaceful no matter what.

Do you remember?

Father smiled at you and said,

Wonderful,

And took your list.

And off you went on your earthly journey.

And then you have a very bad day.

Wonderful.

There's that word again.

Your very bad day is a blessing to you.

How in the world can this very bad day be a blessing to me?

And this being of light quotes a saying written by a very wise person.

Anything that annoys you is teaching you patience.

Anyone who abandons you is teaching you how to stand on your own two feet.

Anything that angers you is teaching you forgiveness and compassion.

Anything that has power over you is teaching you to take your power back.

Anything you hate is teaching you unconditional love.

Anything you fear is teaching you courage to overcome your fear.

And anything you can't control is teaching you how to let go.

Isn't that wonderful?

The list you gave father is being fulfilled.

Wonderful seems to be this being's favorite word.

And then perhaps you smile.

You get it.

It's the only way for those blessings to occur.

The only way to acquire those qualities.

And you laugh.

Wonderful.

And you sing the song of blessing and gratitude with joy.

And there is a verse that says,

To him who loves God,

Everything is for his good.

And you understand.

And so,

Perhaps my sweet child,

You can recognize that a very bad day can be one of teaching and experience joy as you sing your song of gratitude for the opportunity to acquire the qualities you desire.

And as you sing your song of gratitude,

Recognizing a shift has taken place.

And I leave you with love and gratitude.

And so it is.
