Namaste and welcome to today's practice.
My aim is to support you in relieving the symptoms of depression.
Losing interest in what you once loved to be or do must be taken seriously.
Let you experience a lack of energy to carry out your daily tasks and to interact even with those you love.
Maybe getting out of bed in the morning has become a burden.
I send you all my love.
Especially in times of sadness,
Theory tends to seem easier than practice,
So try not to force anything.
Follow your pace and relax.
We are going to start with a conscious breathing exercise,
Then we will do a powerful visualization followed by reflections to help you make peace with your mind.
Firstly I would like to make sure that you are in a comfortable position.
You can be laying down or sitting with a straight spine.
Close your eyes and let your body naturally adjust to the surface where it rests on.
Take a deep breath,
Letting plenty of fresh air to enter your lungs.
Exhale slowly,
Relaxing your abdomen.
Again take a long,
Nutritious inhale,
Revitalizing your body.
And exhale,
Completely relaxing your shoulders and neck.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Express your gratitude for this moment of self-care.
Deep breathing,
Taking oxygen to every muscle in your body.
In this space of relaxation,
I invite you to create an image of yourself that fills the symptoms of depression.
Maybe this image is distorted,
Not very clear.
That's ok,
There is no right or wrong image.
Your imagination is free to travel.
See this image in front of you.
Just watch it silently,
In a detached way.
Keep note of the age of this version of you.
They could be younger,
Older or exactly as you are today.
Pay attention to the colors that are associated with this image.
Does this vision happen in a specific place?
Are you alone in this vision or do you have company?
What details can you see clearly?
You realize that this part of you is trying to tell you something important.
You may feel a certain resistance to hear what they have to say.
If this is the case,
Gently check where this resistance comes from.
If you feel emotional,
It's fine.
You are not alone.
I am here with you.
Take another deep breath,
Letting the breath guide you to your heartbeat.
Feel the resistance gradually losing its strength over you.
You feel a sense of ease in your chest.
You now are ready to hear this part of you without any judgment.
What does that part of you need right now?
The sacred encounter takes place in a gentle and caring way.
Pay attention to thoughts associated with your feelings.
No need to rush.
Take your time.
Focus with the stories that this part of you tells you.
Which ones are real stories that happen in the physical world and which stories are only in the mind?
What has that part of you been focusing on lately?
What words of comfort would they like to hear?
Now I invite you to remember the compassionate and loving part of you,
Where your infinite wisdom lives.
If it's difficult to connect with that side now,
Don't worry.
Find in your memory moments where you felt loved,
Protected and very happy.
Or maybe you want to bring the image of someone who makes you feel that way.
Let your mind take you to the safe place.
This loving image has a beautiful smile on their face and an open heart.
The moment has come for the two parts of you to meet.
They recognize each other and engage in a conversation.
They seem interested in each other.
You notice that they exchange ideas,
Suggestions and experiences.
Listen carefully to what they are talking about.
What new perspectives can you hear during the conversation?
What do you take from this meeting?
Answer your intuition.
Gradually the images disappear from your vision.
But now the part of you that feels the symptoms of depression feels seen and heard.
It feels closer to your heart.
This part of you thanks you for this magical meeting.
Depression is usually connected with a large number of negative thoughts and limiting beliefs.
But all thoughts that the mind creates are true in the reality of the physical world.
I understand that these thoughts seem so true that you may gather evidence to support them and ignore the contrary which has the power to free you.
Your needs patience,
Comfort and understanding as all of our emotions do.
The more training your brain receives,
The more willing it is to separate the real stories from the stories of the mind.
By doing this you will feel closer to a new reality that is waiting for you when you are ready.
A great start for healing is to just believe that it's possible.
And remember that self-compassion is always at your disposal to be endlessly used.
Now take another deep breath to close your practice.
Inhale deeply,
Filling your lungs with fresh air.
And exhale slowly.
Gently open your eyes and return to the physical space where you are in.
The gratitude in me honours the gratitude in you.
See you in our next journey.
Namaste.
