Let's start by getting into a comfortable position.
The most comfortable position you can be in,
Whether that's lying down or sitting up,
Maybe propped up on a bolster or resting in Shavasana with your arms and legs wide.
Do what feels best for you in this moment and allow your weight to fully sink into the earth.
Take a big deep breath in,
Filling and expanding all the way up.
Hold it for a moment here and notice your heart pumping,
Your blood flowing,
Your body fully alive.
As you exhale,
Feel everything contract back in,
Releasing tension and a huge sigh of relief.
Do this two more times and with each breath,
Notice how heavy your body feels against the ground.
Sink deeper into the earth.
Express gratitude for how effortlessly she holds you up.
You don't have to do anything but be held here.
How special is that?
You are safe.
You are safe wherever you are in this moment.
You can fully let go.
Now visualize your physical space with your eyes closed.
Where are you right now?
And how does it feel to be here?
Think of everything in this space that makes you feel safe and protected.
There is a reason you chose this particular spot to be in meditation.
Envision every part of this space and express gratitude for the safety and love it provides.
The world can be a scary place,
Full of greed,
Violence,
Heartache,
Poverty,
Natural disasters.
It's natural to be afraid.
It's natural to not know what's next.
You can meditate,
Deepen your spiritual practice,
And still feel overwhelmed by the chaos around you.
How could you not?
With such is the school of life,
Our souls chose this mission to be here,
To witness,
To experience.
There is suffering in the world,
And there always will be.
The great lesson is in learning to transmute that suffering into love,
Into joy,
Into bliss.
To truly experience the soul's connection to the earth,
To the physical,
To the unseen.
And part of that connection is not ignoring the pain,
But acknowledging it,
Feeling it,
Grieving it.
Your story is not over.
You are safe.
You are here.
You are loved.
You are seen.
You are protected.
Your guides,
The cosmos,
God,
Mama Earth,
And every spiritual force in existence want this for you.
Let go of the outside noise.
Be here now.
Bring your awareness to your shoulders.
Feel the heaviness,
The weight of the world resting there.
And it is heavy.
What are you feeling?
What's coming up for you?
You might see stories,
Images,
Or emotions rise to the surface.
I won't define them for you.
Each person carries a different weight.
This is yours to feel.
And it hurts.
It sucks.
But give yourself a moment to truly feel it.
Let your shoulders grow heavier and heavier under the weight.
And now,
When you feel so heavy,
You can't hold it anymore,
Start to transmute it.
There's nowhere else for this weight to go but up.
Imagine yourself becoming so light,
Light as a feather,
So light you barely feel your sit bones against the ground.
And from your shoulders,
Little particles of light begin to rise.
Like a flame but softer.
Crowds of glowing particles lifting up.
This is the weight,
The pain,
The grief of the world.
Rising and rising.
Watch as these lights float right above your head,
Drifting higher and higher into the sky.
And then they start to form a word.
Trust the first word that appears.
It's so clear in the sky,
Like a plane riding in the clouds.
Acknowledge it.
Breathe it in.
And as you exhale,
Watch this word transform into an orb of light,
Shooting up into the sky,
Bursting into non-existence.
Release.
Now notice your shoulders.
Notice how you feel.
Imagine yourself levitating,
So light and full of gratitude.
You don't have to carry the weight of the world anymore.
You let it go.
Be proud of yourself.
You did that.
And it's not yours to carry.
Such is life.
Such is this earth.
Such is this dense,
Heavy,
3D reality.
And that's okay.
You are light.
You are the light.
Be that,
For yourself and for others.
And any time the weight returns,
When your beautiful,
Empathetic heart aches for the world,
Come back to this space.
Feel the heaviness.
Acknowledge it.
Love it.
And then transmute it,
Just as you did now.
This will always be here for you.
Now slowly start to return back to your physical space.
Noticing any sounds around you.
Feeling the earth supporting you once more.
Rooting you in the here and now.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Take a big,
Deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Open your eyes.
