Hello,
And welcome to a gentle guided meditation for kids.
My name is Lee Anderson,
And this is called the Pug Stance,
Calm,
Kind,
And super brave.
Welcome.
This is your special quiet time,
A moment just for you to feel calm,
Happy,
And full of your own special kind of bravery.
Today we're going to imagine being a sweet little pug dog,
Mostly white,
Brown ears,
And a wiggly tail,
And the softest fur ever.
This pug is calm,
Kind,
And super brave.
It knows when to play,
When to rest,
And when to just sit and enjoy the world.
So let's start by finding a cozy place to sit or lie down,
Maybe on a pillow,
A blanket,
Or your favorite spot on the couch.
Go on,
Get nice and comfy.
Now gently close your eyes,
Or just look at one quiet spot.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And let it out through your mouth with a slow,
Gentle sigh.
Let's do that again.
Breathe in,
And breathe out.
Now imagine a little pug sitting on a warm,
Sunny porch.
The sun is shining,
The breeze is soft,
And the pug is just sitting quietly,
Breathing and watching butterflies and birds go by.
It doesn't bark at everything it sees.
It doesn't chase every squirrel.
It just watches,
Waiting for the right moment.
The pug is proud and calm.
It knows who it is.
And guess what?
That calm,
Strong feeling is inside you too.
Take another deep breath in,
And let it out slowly.
Now imagine you are the pug.
You can feel the porch under your paws,
The sunshine on your fur,
And the breeze tickling your ears.
You are peaceful.
You are strong.
You are kind.
Let's say some words quietly in our heads,
Or out loud if you want.
I am calm.
I am kind.
I am strong.
And if a thought pops into your head,
That's okay.
Let it float by like a butterfly.
You don't have to chase it.
Just come back to your breath.
Breathe in,
And breathe out.
Now imagine your pug self sitting with other friendly pugs or people you love,
Your little pack.
Everyone is relaxed and happy just being together.
You feel safe.
You feel loved.
You feel proud of being you.
Let this warm,
Happy feeling grow big in your chest like a sunshine bubble.
Take one more big breath in,
And let it go with a soft sigh.
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
Reach and stretch your arms if you want.
And when you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
You did such a good job.
You are calm,
Kind,
And super brave.
And guess what?
You can come back to the pug stance anytime you want,
Because that calm,
Brave little pug lives inside you,
Always there.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for being you.
