In this soothing visualization, I invite you to reconnect with the natural flow of life, gently releasing attachments to old narratives that no longer serve you. "Becoming the River", is intended for those who find themselves stuck and unable to move forward in life, or away from a certain situation, person or a past story. May you re-enter your flow again <3 Happy Flowing! Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): License code: XIZZBRPRT0OBIAF3

Welcome to this brief guided visualization where we dive into reopening ourselves to the flow of life and relinquishing our attachments to old narratives.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable position away from the distractions of the day.

You may choose to lie down or sit comfortably with your back straight.

Begin by taking a deep belly breath in and out,

In and out.

Repeat for a few more breaths until you can hear your heartbeat beating inside your chest.

Now,

Imagine a river.

A river so wide,

Clear,

Glowing.

It is a perfect scene.

It's summer day,

The flowers are blossoming,

The birds are chirping in the distance,

And the sound of the water washing over the teeny tiny rocks is invigorating.

The river,

When flowing forward,

Hits the rocks and small branches,

Creating whirlpools to emerge.

The river then flows through one,

Swirling for some time,

Only to re-enter the larger flow again.

Then hits another whirlpool,

Spins for a while,

Then merges again,

Eventually continuing its course.

Although it may seem that the water in the whirlpools are separate,

It is temporary for the water to flow.

The formations are the river itself.

You see,

Sometimes in life,

We mistakenly identify as the whirlpool.

We get stuck,

Attached to our identity,

Our story of pain,

Lack,

Fear,

Righteousness,

You name it.

We get caught up in our own swirling,

this river visualization was very helpful for me to start my morning sit. practicing vipassana through the visualization enabled me to tune into my inner world more, unlocking a memorable sensation between *focusing* on the whirlpool, or choosing to *be* the river. subtle sensations like this are a welcome step toward greater discernment within my awareness as emotions and sensations arise in my waking life. extremely grateful for this practice πŸ™πŸΎ.

I have Multiple Sclerosis and the holidays are so difficult for me as a wife and mother who is unable to participate much. This meditation was so beautiful and reminded me to just flow.
