This story brings us an important teaching -- which is in line with those transmitted by the Zen story "A Cup of Tea" or the Buddhist story "A Piece of Truth." Our conceptual and analytical conception usually hinders our direct contact with The Essential.

Transcript

The protagonist of this story is a boy who lives in a rural environment.

Not in a nowadays rural environment,

With internet and all the possible distractions we undergo nowadays,

But in one from centuries ago.

So we can imagine the kind of sober life that Daniel had.

The story describes a boy in continuous and close contact with nature.

It seems as if he had merged with it to a certain degree.

It also tells us about his sensitivity towards his flock and music.

Through nature,

Daniel establishes a close connection with divinity.

There is many a story of shepherds who have been blessed with numinous experiences.

However,

It seems that his father is not aware of this grace that his son has developed,

And is quite preoccupied with Daniel learning Hebrew.

But the young shepherd must have suffered from some type of learning difficulty,

Perhaps a severe dyslexia.

The fact is that we can't be good at everything,

And Daniel would never excel academically.

And this attitude of his father affected him,

To the point of developing feelings of inferiority.

Precisely when he was a person who had access to a very deep and close connection with the essential.

Finally,

Daniel found the courage to express himself,

To share his grace with the community in that spiritual gathering.

And it seems that despite his father's initial embarrassment,

A magical moment took place.

God's grace reached everyone through the notes of his pipe,

And Baal Shem Tov,

The master of the good name,

Recognized his grace publicly and the benefits of his unique prayer.

I want to take this opportunity to express once again that our connection with the divine is not so good when we move from a logical and analytical thinking,

As the Zen story A Cup of Tea and the Buddhist tale A Piece of Truth remind us.

So what seemed like a difficulty and was causing suffering in Daniel and his father,

Was really an extra help in their spiritual development.

Remember,

Spirituality is non-conceptual.
