This story leads me to a non-theistic perception of the divine,
Where instead of God I imagine a series of immanent universal laws.
In this case the law that is distinguished would be the one that in the Kybalion is known as the principle of correspondence,
And which reminds us that,
As above,
So below,
As it is inside,
So outside,
And it would be accompanied by two other principles,
A fundamental one,
The principle of mentalism,
Which affirms that the all is mind,
That the universe is mental,
And the principle of cause and effect,
Which states that every cause has its effect,
And every effect has its cause.
Either way,
Whether we believe that it is an almighty God who pulls the strings,
Or we put this function in an abstract higher intelligence organized in universal laws,
It seems that our life is a reflection of our perception and attitude towards it,
At least to some extent.
Therefore,
When we enter into a fearful or greedy attitude,
Which ultimately have a lot in common,
It seems that what we put into play comes back to us,
Like a boomerang.
Just as if we project a detached and kind attitude,
We receive more of the same.
You reap what you sow,
That which you deploy on a daily basis.
It is to be appreciated that this story points out this commercial attitude that we all,
As members of this society,
Have suckled in one way or another,
And that,
On top of our personality,
Already selfish.
Therefore,
The teaching that Thucia gives us is of great value to us.
To make use of it,
Naturally and fluidly,
Contemplate your surroundings often,
And let yourself rest on your senses,
Until they come together in a single sensation.
Meditate.
