Welcome to Meditation Rocks!
I'm Lucy.
So this meditation is using our breath to reset every moment.
So go and get somewhere comfortable and I'll be right back.
So sometimes it's good to stop,
To take stock and to reset our body and our mind.
We can get carried away with things that perhaps aren't important and it's good to get a sense of perspective once again.
So for this practice we're going to use our breath as a little reset,
A little Ctrl-Alt-Delete in every single moment.
So make sure you're comfortable.
If you're sitting in a chair just make sure that your feet are flat down on the ground.
You can press all four corners of the feet into the earth.
Find your sit bones sitting up nice and tall,
Nice long spine.
Give the shoulders and the neck a little stretch too,
If that feels good.
And then bring your hands just down onto your lap or to your knees.
We're not using any mudras or anything like that so just take a nice comfortable position for the hands.
And when you're ready you can close your eyes or just soften your gaze.
And taking these first few moments just to arrive here,
To allow the weight of the body just to settle down.
Feel the feet.
Feel your sit bones supported.
Allow yourself to sit a little heavier.
Feeling your chest expand as you breathe in and out.
Feeling your hands connecting with your own body.
Feel all of your fingertips and your palms.
And just allow anything around you,
Distractions,
Sounds,
To fade into the background.
Almost like you're turning the volume down on life for ten minutes or so.
And start to feel that connection with your breath.
So feel your rise and fall.
And taking a moment to lengthen the breath just a little.
And let's take three deep breaths together.
So breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And two more when you're ready.
Feel that release as you exhale.
And then close your mouth and start to breathe in and out through your nose.
And find your yuzhai breath.
So breathing in and out.
Finding an equal length of inhale and exhale.
And it's this breath that will become our point of focus.
And it doesn't matter how long the inhale is,
It can be different each time you breathe in.
Just try and match the exhale in length.
Rise and fall.
In and out.
So we'll start by taking a few moments to feel the inhale.
And now we will add a pause after the inhale and before the exhale.
So focus on the inhale and the pause.
And now adding your exhale to your focus.
So breathing in,
Pause,
Breathing out.
And now the pause between the exhale and the inhale is your reset.
So you may even say as you get to the exhale,
Pause,
I reset.
So you'll travel through the breath,
The inhale,
The pause,
The exhale,
And that second pause,
I reset.
So take a few moments and maybe you'll like to have quite long and deep breaths here.
Inhale,
Pause,
Exhale,
I reset.
So treating each breath experience as a unique moment in time,
In your life,
To focus on,
To reset.
And we're going to travel through the body from toes to head and reset at every point.
So start with your feet.
Breathe in and feel the breath.
Feel your feet.
Pause,
Exhale,
Press the soles of the feet into the earth as you say,
I reset.
Inhale,
Pause,
Exhale,
Pause,
I reset.
Feel your feet.
And now to your sit bones.
So feel the support of the chair or wherever you might be.
Breathe in,
Feel your sit bones,
Pause,
Exhale,
Pause and reset.
Remember,
I reset at the pause after the exhale.
And now come to your hands.
Feel your hands.
Breathe in,
Pause,
Exhale,
Pause,
I reset.
And finally back to the chest.
So making your breath and your chest,
Your heart space,
Your complete focus.
So breathing in,
Pause,
Exhale,
Pause,
I reset.
And now here with your whole body in your mind,
Feeling a sense of resetting at the end of every breath.
And maybe you'd like to say,
I have reset.
And when you're ready,
Let's take three deep breaths together,
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And then just allowing your breath to return to a nice comfortable rhythm and flow for you.
Perhaps making some tiny movements,
Wiggling fingers and toes and bringing the hands together and giving them a little rub,
Create some warmth and some heat.
And then covering the hands over your eyes and blinking your eyes open inside your hands and bringing your hands down in your own time.
And I'm here.
I hope you enjoy that little reset meditation.
You can use that at any time of the day or night.
It's a really nice technique just to bring everything back to the start.
I hope you have a lovely day and I will see you again very soon.
Bye for now.
