So today's meditation is using spring as a bit of inspiration.

Definitely the days are getting longer and lighter and those lovely spring bulbs and flowers are beginning to spring into life.

So we'll use spring as our inspiration for today's meditation.

So go and get yourself somewhere comfortable and we'll begin.

So there's nothing better is there than just walking along and seeing a nice bank of snowdrops or a little daffodil that's beginning to come into life in the garden and spring is a season of hope and new life.

So this is a quite an optimistic positive meditation that you might like to use at any time of the day where we're going to almost imagine that we're a tiny bulb in the soil and then coming up into the light and bursting into life.

I hope you enjoy it.

Go and get yourself somewhere comfortable.

Make sure that your feet are nice and flat on the floor if you're sitting in a chair drawing up through the spine giving the shoulders a little bit of a roll around maybe taking a moment of love for the neck just releasing any tension that might be there.

Now for this one you might like to take the Lotus Mudra because we're going to use that in a moment.

So that's bringing all your fingers to your thumb and having the backs of the hands resting on the lap but the key thing is that you're comfortable so if you don't like that just pop your hands down flat on your lap.

So when you're ready close your eyes or soften your gaze or maybe you're doing this little meditation out in the garden or in the wild where you can fully experience the spring flowers but if you're out in the wild try and soften your gaze and not look around for too many details that you can fully focus inwards.

Take a moment just to arrive and feel the weight of your body on the ground or the chair or wherever you might be.

Let's take some deep breaths now beginning to focus our attention inwards allowing the sounds of life to just fade into the background.

Everything and everyone can wait this is your time.

So start to feel the rise and fall of your breath within your body and have that sense of connection breathing deeply feeling nourished by your breath.

Let's take two deep breaths together so breathing in through your nose deeply filling your chest breathing out through your mouth finding softness in your muscles and again breathing deeply in and out.

So now when it's comfortable close your mouth and start to breathe in and out through your nose.

This is our yuzhai breath.

So taking a few moments just to find that little balance as you breathe in and out equal length of breath.

So I'd like you now to focus on the darkness in your mind's eye.

Just imagining that we're a tiny bulb here in the soil warm and comfortable.

As you focus on the contact points of your body with the chair and the ground feel supported here in this moment just as a bulb feels supported in the soil.

And this warmth and darkness around you is comforting and safe.

But as a bulb you are full of hope and possibilities.

Over the next few moments begin to reach for the light.

So I'd like you to see a tiny little white pinpoint of light in between your eyebrows.

You can focus on this light as you breathe in you focus as you breathe out that light begins to get a little bit bigger.

So as we are beginning to grow I'd like you as you breathe in to imagine that the bulb is reaching for this light you focus and as you breathe out the light begins to get bigger and press your feet gently into the ground as you feel like you're lifting out of the soil.

So your feet are going to become your roots.

Every time you breathe out you press your roots a little firmer into the soil as that light begins to get bigger.

So as you begin to reach the top of the soil you're growing stronger and taller.

Breathing in focusing on the white light getting bigger breathing out feeling that white light expanding as you root down through the soles of your feet.

So taking a few moments to allow this light to get bigger as you breathe in breathing out you root down into the ground as you grow taller and stronger.

Just taking a few moments now as you realize you're almost through the soil and out into the white light.

So over the next few breaths just allow this white light to fill your mind's eye and surround your body as you burst through the soil reaching for the sunlight.

Breathe in this light and warmth breathe out you root down through your feet feeling grounded here in the soil.

Feel this sense of hope and light and new life as you breathe in.

Feel a sense of strength feeling grounded and rooted into the soil as you breathe out.

And now bringing your lotus mudra fingers to your thumb as you begin to open your flower.

So breathe in allow that contact with your fingertips fingers to thumb breathing out begin to open your fingers as your flower begins to bloom and you can repeat breathing in the fingers come to the thumb breathing out feeling that sense of new life as the flower begins to bloom fingers open just take a few moments here breathing in and out with your lotus mudra.

Maybe you can picture the flower beginning to bloom in your mind's eye.

Just take three more long deep breaths bringing the fingers to the thumb as you breathe in breathing out allowing the hands to fully open relax your palms and fingers and thumbs good keep going allow that flower to open in your mind.

And then just resting the hands open on your lap or knees.

And just focus on the idea of all of you flowers beginning to bloom as new life is springing all around us.

So breathing in that sense of hope and new life breathing out feel the soles of your feet grounding you into the earth.

And let's take three deep breaths together breathing in through your nose breathing out through your mouth.

And slowly allowing this image of your flower to begin to fade knowing that new life is beginning all around you.

Take a moment to have any little stretches releasing fingers toes moving into your neck a little bit and then taking your hands together giving them a little bit of a rub create some warmth hovering the hands over your eyes and blinking your eyes open inside your hands bringing the hands down when you're ready and I'm here.

And I hope that's a nice spring themed meditation for you to use a little bit of a guided meditation imagine with a bulb blooming into life into a flower and I hope it's a nice addition to your day have a lovely rest of your day and I'll see you again very soon bye for now.
