Hello and welcome to this breastfeeding meditation track.
My name is Lucy and I'm here today to guide you through this track which is designed to support you whether you're breastfeeding or expressing your milk.
So let's begin then.
Taking in a slow deep breath.
Breathing slowly in.
And then releasing your breath with a sigh.
Again another deep breath into your body.
And then releasing your breath.
And once more taking another breath.
And then letting the breath out at your own pace.
Allowing your breathing to return to its own pace and rhythm.
So allowing your eyes to close or you can lower your gaze.
And I'd like you to imagine that you are in your favourite place in nature.
This is a safe and tranquil place.
You can imagine the breeze gently caressing your body and the sound of a rushing stream.
Take a deep breath in and smell the clean air.
In your place in nature,
You notice that the sun is at a perfect temperature and it shines on you.
Feeling how wonderful it is to simply let go.
Allowing the muscles around your scalp to relax.
And taking that sense of relaxation down through your forehead.
Softening the muscles around your eyes and your eyelids.
And allowing your eyelids to feel heavier.
It feels so nice to release all tension in your body.
The relaxation continues to drift over your cheeks and the sides of your face.
And through your nose,
Mouth and jaw.
And you release and let go.
You notice your teeth parting slightly as your shoulders drop.
Your arms loosen and your body feels much more relaxed.
Softer and softer.
Even your mind is becoming calmer.
Noticing how nice it is to allow the relaxation to move into your chest.
Down through your body.
Moving down into the tummy and the hips.
Flowing all the way down your legs,
Into your feet and into your toes.
And when you feel the relaxation in your toes,
You can imagine that any tension,
Any stress,
Leaves the body now through your toes.
Taking a deep breath in and releasing the breath.
You know that giving breast milk to your baby is an important job.
Even just a drop matters.
Cherish this time to step away from the outside world.
Giving your body and your mind a much needed opportunity to relax.
This is your opportunity to allow your milk to flow.
Taking your mind back now to that favourite place in nature.
In this place,
You feel,
See or sense a path.
And as you walk along the path,
It meanders until you find a large book in front of you.
You open the book and place all of your thoughts,
Your worries and your concerns inside this book now.
Freeing your mind of all thoughts except for the thought of feeding your baby.
Now close this book,
Knowing that you can pick up the items in this book anytime.
You are one with nature.
And whether you are expressing your milk or breastfeeding,
Your body is nature and it's producing milk for your baby.
A wave of relaxation fills your body now.
And you bring to mind the image of skin-to-skin contact with your baby.
This brings a calm sense of serenity,
A sense of connection.
The thought of your baby's skin next to yours allows your breasts to let down now.
And you say to yourself,
My milk lets down.
You feel the warmth and the tingling sensation of milk flowing down each breast.
Your milk is flowing now,
Bringing you a sense of joy,
Knowing that each drop,
Even just a little,
Is a gift for your baby.
Imagine now your baby nuzzling at your chest,
And their milky smell.
Picture now holding your baby,
The two of you,
So comfortable,
So relaxed.
And the thought of you and your baby close together brings more milk into your breasts.
Whether you're expressing or breastfeeding,
You know that your body is doing a wonderful job of bringing milk to your baby.
That wonderful milk as it flows down your milk ducts.
The little jets of milk joining together in a greater flow.
And there is no right way to provide milk.
It's whatever way is right for you and your journey,
Whether you're breastfeeding or expressing.
And you grow more confident every time you see your baby drinking your milk.
You feel empowered.
And expressing or breastfeeding can start to feel easier with each passing week.
This time,
This time for you and your baby,
Is precious time that you will spend together.
This you will not get back.
This time is so precious.
So enjoy every moment.
Embrace it all.
The difficult parts,
The parts that feel easier.
Welcome it all in.
Your wonderful body producing milk for your baby is a miracle.
Your nipples and your milk ducts are healthy and strong.
And your breasts are doing an amazing job.
Of feeding your baby.
Imagine talking to your baby,
Reminding them that they are loved and they are welcomed.
And if your baby is close to you right now,
You can speak these words gently to them.
That they are loved and they are welcomed.
Let your baby know what it means to be their parents and to provide milk for them.
You may be new to this,
So show yourself some compassion as you learn to be their mother.
As your milk flows now,
Choosing happy thoughts to help you feel good.
Allowing yourself to feel grounded and centered.
And enjoying providing milk for your baby,
Whether you're expressing or breastfeeding.
Take the time to thank your body.
Thanking it for each drop of milk you produce.
And be thankful to yourself now for listening to this meditation today.
Guiding you and nurturing you as you nurture your baby.
You can choose now to listen to the music as you feed your baby or express your milk.
Take your time.
Enjoy this time.
This time for stillness,
For reflection and for connection.
Thank you for supporting our project.
And we're sending you all our love.
And a huge congratulations for your beautiful rainbow baby.
Take care.
