Hello and welcome.
My name is Luchana and today we'll be practicing breath of fire.
For breath of fire,
You'll be seated and you'll be inhaling and exhaling in and out through the nose,
Keeping the mouth closed.
Your eyes will also be closed and your gaze will be pointed inward at your brow point.
You'll be pumping the navel with each breath in and each breath out.
Creating equal inhalations and exhalations as you pump the navel in and out.
You'll be building your own pace but it'll sound a little bit like this.
You want to keep a steady pace and know that breath of fire is not hyperventilation.
We are here to create equal breaths while pumping the navel.
You'll feel different sensations that might make your hands tingle or feel a little lightheaded.
It's totally normal and if you feel that,
You can slow the breath down while maintaining those equal inhalations and exhalations.
All right.
Get comfy.
Find a tall spine.
Close the eyes.
We'll take a nice deep breath in through the nose first to start.
Inhale now and exhale out from the mouth.
Remembering we'll be breathing in and out through the nose for the next three minutes.
Begin in three,
Two,
One.
Finding your own pace here.
Pumping the navel with each inhale and each exhale.
As you do this,
Breath of fire,
It assists the body in releasing toxins,
At balancing the nervous systems,
Increasing oxygen delivery to the brain,
And boosting the immune system.
Remember to find your own pace and create those equal inhalations and exhalations in and out through the nose as you pump the navel.
Keep going.
If you need to slow down,
You can slow down.
Stay with the breath.
Notice the sensations.
One more minute.
You're almost there.
Staying with the breath.
Noticing all the different layers that this is bringing up for you.
The breath is a powerful teacher.
Ten more seconds.
Take a nice deep breath in through the nose here.
Hold it in.
Keep holding.
And exhale out of the mouth.
Breathing naturally for the next few moments as we stay in stillness here to notice the effects of this breath.
Observing what the breath has to teach us.
Thanking the body.
Thanking the breath.
Beginning to come back to the space,
Wiggling the fingers and the toes,
And opening your eyes when you're ready.
