
New Moon Yoga Nidra

A new moon is a very potent time to plant seeds. To let go of what no longer serves us and tap into what we want to manifest the coming moon cycle. This journey will guide you through a visualization where you can meet yourself, what you wish to release and you get a chance to plant seeds. Sacred seeds. The body will feel relaxed and at ease and the subconscious mind will be reprogrammed. Tend to your beautiful garden.

Welcome to this new moon yoga nidra.
The new moon represents the beginning of a cycle and the full moon represents a clearing or release.
The new moon is the time when the soil is most fertile.
So we plant seeds on the new moon as the moon's lunar gravity pulls water up.
The new moon is considered a growth phase and is an ideal time to plant seeds in our lives as well as our hearts for the future.
The new moon is an invitation to start fresh,
Call in intentions and set the tone for the next cycle.
Asking the universe for what you want is a very powerful practice.
Combine asking for what you want with the clean slate of the new moon and you have a potent recipe for creating the vision you most desire.
The new moon offers an energizing and exciting time to recalibrate your energy for the upcoming cycle and bring an upgraded level of consciousness to the dreams you long to make a reality.
Learning to clearly ask for what you want is a big part of this practice.
It requires you to dig deep into your heart and listen to what it is telling you.
When we find ourselves caught up in what we think we should want,
What others want for us or there is an ambivalent attitude about reality and believing that we will never get it.
This usually stems from feeling a big sense of lack in our lives.
That we don't deserve what our hearts want or that we don't feel worthy enough of our true desires.
These belief systems need to be addressed in order to make the most out of these new moon intention rituals.
The beauty is you do not need to have it all figured out right now.
All that is required is an open heart and a willingness to explore what surfaces in your life with courage.
So let's begin.
See if you can lie down on the floor in Shavasana or corpse pose.
It can be nice to bring some pillows or a bolster under the knees.
To bring a pillow below your head and to cover yourself up with a blanket.
Making sure that the chin is not much higher than the heart.
Drop your arms by your side and make sure that there is a little bit of space in between your armpits.
Tell your body it's time to fully surrender and let go.
There is nothing you have to do anymore.
See if you can commit to stillness.
Once you've settled in and maybe making yourself 5% more comfortable.
Find a full breath in and out.
Feeling your mind settle.
And take another deep breath in,
In the back ribs,
Side ribs,
Front ribs.
A three dimensional breath.
And exhale all the air out.
With that any residue tension.
Letting go.
Breathe into deeper relaxation.
The practice of yoga nidra begins now.
See if you can fully arrive on your mat in the room and start noticing which body parts are in touch with the floor.
Being carried by the earth,
Supported and with each exhale allowing the body to be heavy.
Shifting from doing into being.
Notice your surroundings and arrive in this space.
Begin to notice any sound you're hearing around you.
What is the soundscape?
Let the sounds enter your ears without labeling or judging.
Sounds close by,
Sounds far away.
Just observing any sounds.
Then begin to notice the temperature on your skin.
On your bare skin.
Is it warm or cold or maybe you can notice some air brushing your skin.
Maybe a ray of sunlight is reaching your skin.
Just notice.
Now we will continue with the rotation of consciousness.
I will name a body part and try to bring your full consciousness,
Your full awareness to the body part that I'm naming.
As if it lights up with a golden,
Healing warm light.
Bring your attention to your toes.
All of your tent toes.
Feel them lighting up with the golden ray of light.
The soles of the feet.
Top of the feet.
Notice your heels and how the heels are touching the mat.
Pressing into the surface.
Bring the golden light up towards your ankles.
Your lower leg from ankle to the knees.
Notice how the calf muscle gently presses into the floor.
Notice your knees.
Allow the golden light to travel with you to the knees,
The kneecap and the back of the knee.
Your upper leg from knees to the hip joint.
Allow the golden light to fill it up,
To light it up.
Noticing your buttocks and the weight of your buttocks on the mat.
Notice your pelvic area,
The hips.
Noticing all the muscles and the tissues there.
Allowing the pelvic area to light up in the golden,
Healing warm light.
Bring attention to your torso,
Front and back.
At the back side of your torso,
Notice your lower back and how it is gently off the floor.
Middle back,
Upper back.
Allow the whole spine to light up in golden light from tailbone to your neck.
Bring attention to your front torso.
Your abdominal area,
Stomach,
Chest.
Radiating in golden,
Healing light.
Bring attention to your neck.
Notice how the neck is off the floor.
Noticing the body and the head.
Now bring your attention to your head and the weight of your head pressing into the pillow or the floor.
Notice the back of the head,
The top of the head and the crown of the head.
Allow the golden light to travel with you.
It's dripping down onto your forehead,
To your eyebrows,
Your eyeballs and how they are resting in the eye sockets.
Your eyelid protecting your eyes.
Noticing the weight of your eyelid on your eyes.
Bring attention to your ears.
Golden light follows.
Your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Your nose,
Tip of the nose and the nostrils.
The golden light follows you to your upper lip,
Your teeth,
The tongue laying in the mouth,
Your lower lip,
Your chin.
Allow the whole head to fill up with warm golden healing light.
Softening your whole face.
Now notice your neck.
Allow the golden light to move to your shoulders.
And feel how the shoulder blades are resting on the mat.
Radiating in golden healing light.
And then moving from the shoulder joints to your upper arm.
Your upper arm from shoulder to elbow.
Your elbow.
Your lower arm from elbow to wrist.
Notice your wrist.
Your palms.
Front and back.
And noticing all of your ten fingers lighting up in golden healing light.
Noticing your whole body.
The whole body.
Lighting up in healing golden light.
Now you are fully connected to your Annamayya Gosha or your physical body.
You surrender a little bit more.
You let go a little bit more.
We are going to go deeper into this relaxation.
Bring your attention under your skin.
Under your skin,
At your arm from your elbow to your fingertips.
Just notice.
There is an energy flowing,
Rushing towards your fingertips.
It can be a tingly feeling or a warm feeling.
Just notice any sensations under the skin.
Now keeping your attention to your fingers.
And begin to notice your breathing at your nostrils or upper lip.
Feeling the breath brushing on the upper lip.
Notice when you inhale the air is slightly colder.
When you exhale the air is slightly warmer.
Now keeping the attention to your breath.
Notice your fingertips as you breathe.
See what happens to the tingly feeling.
Do not judge,
Just notice.
Your body is now connected to your Pranamayya Gosha or your energy body.
Feel it.
Sink into it.
You will go a little bit deeper into relaxation and letting go.
I will count from 1 to 7.
With each number you will go deeper and deeper into relaxation and your consciousness will rise.
With awareness raised vibration.
I will start the count now.
Follow my voice.

A sankalpa is an intention,
A wish,
A desire.
Something you wish to manifest in your life or a state you desire.
You are planting a seed within your soul.
To repeat this sankalpa in your yoga nidra practice helps you to make a connection with your soul,
With who you truly are and what your desires are in terms of growth.
Now state your sankalpa in a positive present tense as it is already there.
Do and listen to what arises for you from deep within your heart.
As sankalpa can be,
I trust myself and others.
I am healing.
I care for my inner child.
I accept myself as I am.
I am valuable.
I am lovable.
State your sankalpa now three times.
Allow it to vibrate through your body.
Now we will go on a new moon journey.
Follow my voice.
As I guide you through a visualization.
Just to visualize yourself standing in front of a peaceful and safe forest.
What does the forest look like?
You observe that there is a path going inside.
You start walking on the path.
Look around you.
What enters your senses?
What do you see,
Smell,
Hear?
Look at the height and colors of the trees and leaves and maybe even flowers.
Observe this beautiful forest in all its abundance.
Oh it smells,
An explosion of colors.
Soak it all up.
See how the light and shadows are and how the sun is maybe shining through the leaves.
Notice all the colors,
The shading and notice all your surroundings.
Maybe you see a little animal,
A butterfly,
Maybe you can see a squirrel,
A rabbit.
Just notice all the beauty of nature and life you can observe around you.
Can you hear the chirping of the birds,
Sound of leaves under your feet,
The whistling of the trees,
Wind blowing.
Maybe you can feel the air brushing your skin,
The fresh crispy air.
Also notice the temperature and the smells.
Touch the leaves,
Stroke or hug a beautiful tree and look around if there is any tree that catches your attention.
Touch it,
Become one with the tree.
Continue walking on the path,
Surrounded with all the forest sounds.
Feeling this beautiful calming nature,
This relaxed space,
Very softly you can maybe hear a stream,
Water.
The path is leading you to a stream of fresh see through clear water.
You begin to notice the stream and walk towards it.
Maybe touching the stream,
Feeling the water on your skin.
Is it warm or cold and what is the color of the water?
Walking further and further on the path,
The stream is leading you to a beautiful garden.
Slowly you approach the garden.
What can you see?
Observe its peacefulness,
Its beauty,
Its abundance.
You start walking to the middle of the garden,
Filled with trees,
Bushes,
Flowers and everything is in full bloom.
Just notice your surroundings.
Gazing up you see a blue,
Clear,
Expansive sky and you feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Birds are chirping,
Butterflies are flying around.
You feel so safe and at ease.
In one corner there is a garden shed.
And against the shed leans a rake and some other garden tools.
There is a gentle spring breeze and it soothes your face.
Looking around again,
You notice that there is a gate at one side of the garden that leads into a clearing and then a path into a distant tree line.
Taking a few moments to take in all the beautiful colors and breathe in the scents of the trees and the flowers.
You begin to realize that this garden symbolizes your life and all of your experiences up to this present moment.
As you look at the ground under your feet and all around you,
You notice that along with many plants and budding flowers,
There are a lot of dried,
Crumbled up leaves left behind from autumn and winter.
Looking more closely,
You see there are even areas where the leaves are packed down,
Forming a damp carpet,
Blocking some of the plants from reaching the light of the sun.
These leaves represent negative experiences,
Feelings or messages that you have received from others and internalized.
They represent negative beliefs about yourself or others as all of the negative energy that you have received throughout others.
You deeply know that the world is full of positive and negative energy.
Things from other people's gardens can be swept up in the wind and blown into your garden.
Deciding now,
It is time to clear the space of this negativity.
You get the rake and begin raking all the leaves through the gate,
Pulling them into a big pile and clearing outside of the garden,
A safe distance away from the beautiful trees,
Plants and flowers you have planted throughout the years.
Once you have cleared out all the dead leaves and the pile is ready,
You decide to burn the pile of all the things you no longer need,
All the things that are blocking your light and stopping you from growing.
Get rid of these leaves permanently.
You know that other leaves will come,
But you can clear them as well.
You keep maintaining your garden,
Keeping it clutter free and allowing all of the plants to receive water and sunlight in order to bloom their full potential.
Setting fire to the leaves now.
To watch as the smoke rises up higher and higher until it drills off into a thin tail,
Eventually dissipating into the sky.
Sense that you're letting go of all negative beliefs.
Let go.
As the fire burns out,
You feel lighter and free,
Unburdened.
You are able to open your mind and heart to new experiences,
Positive energy and good health.
You can feel this throughout every cell and fiber of your being.
Feel it.
Reaching in your pockets now,
You find seeds you have been meaning to plant for quite a long time.
It is time to replenish your garden with healing herbs and bright flowers.
You know instinctively where to plant these special seeds because you have been tending your garden your entire life.
Bringing the seeds to your heart and whisper to them what you want to manifest in your life.
What would you like to create?
By pushing the seeds down into the earth with full intention.
Covering them lightly with the soil,
You pet them gently and then give them just the right amount of water.
Watering your dreams,
Watering your desires.
What are you planting with these seeds?
Allow it to come to your mind's eye.
As time passes,
They go stronger and stronger and healthier second by second.
Even though you cannot see them at first,
You know that they are under the service,
Germinating and sprouting,
Pushing their way up through the earth and into the light,
Into your life.
Trusting this process,
You can leave nature to do its work.
You are free now to relax,
To maybe lay down in your garden and enjoy the beauty that is the result of your hard work.
Your heart and mind have so much room now for new things to grow and flourish.
You decide that caring for yourself regularly is worth the effort because you feel so much freer and at peace.
Feared of all the negative energy that you have been absorbing.
In fact,
You decide to spend more time in awareness of your body,
Emotions and thoughts so that you know when you need to tend to the garden the most.
Keeping it clear of negative clutter and abundant with positive energy.
To make the garden your dream garden.
To plant seeds that allow you to live your dream life.
I will leave you in this space for two minutes.
Cheers.
Now it's time to repeat your sankalpa.
Doing it three times,
Allowing it to vibrate through your whole body as your absolute truth.
Now you can deeply rest in this state.
I will talk to your unconscious,
Subconscious and super conscious mind.
If you like you can listen to my voice,

As deep healing has already happened.
Beloved unconscious,
Subconscious and super conscious mind,
Whatever healing has happened in this session,
Let it integrate now.
In the body,
In the mind,
In the heart,
In the chakras,
Energy bodies and into your soul.
Whatever is helping you to grow and whatever is not needed now,
Let it be forgotten.
Whatever is helping you to grow,
Evolve and empower,
Trust and let it always be there.
Let it always guide you towards love and self-realization.
Now I will count from seven to one.
When you hear one,
You will feel relaxed,
Refreshed and full of energy and ready to live your day to day life with trust,
Joy,
Surrender and happiness.
Again take two deep breaths.
Six,
Feel the oxygen running into your body,
Making it alive.
Five,
Move your fingers and your toes.
Four,
Stretching your arms over your head and stretching the whole body,
Observing any subtle sensations.
Three,
Remember where you are.
Two,
When you are ready,
Open up your eyes.
One,
Welcome back.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.
Slowly taking time to come out of your practice.
If it feels okay for you,
Rolling over to the right side of the body and staying there for a couple of moments in fetal position.
Gently press yourself up to find an easy,
Comfortable position.
Slowly look around the room,
Notice where you are again and allow yourself some time to fully come back.
