The biggest regrets of those at the end of their life is not being true to themselves.

They realize when there is no more time in life that they lived how others wanted them to live and not how they wanted to.

Hello my name is Lauren Runyon and this is Studio R.

Welcome to this Yoga Nidra meditation for how to connect with your true authentic self.

This is a guided meditation to help you calm your mind,

Let go of your fear,

Insecurities,

And doubt that keep you from listening to your true self.

Your true self is who you are at your core.

The you that has shed the limitations,

Judgments,

And the guilt or fear and you authentically show all pieces of you without the fear stopping you.

We lose our true self and instead start to live our life for others and their beliefs.

Sometimes it can be hard to find our true selves again.

This meditation is here to help you do that.

Before we begin,

Start to find your most comfortable position for this meditation.

This can be any position that helps you feel safe,

Warm,

And supported.

Close your eyes or take a soft gaze and invite a gentle awareness to your body.

Notice how you physically feel as you rest on the surface below you.

Invite a sense of melting to your body.

An invitation to take up as much space as you need,

Letting go of anything that restricts your physical body so that you can begin to release and soften.

Now take a deep breath in through the nose and open the mouth to exhale.

Feel free to make your exhale as loud or as soft as you need.

Again,

Inhale through the nose and release completely out the mouth imagining that everything that doesn't need to be here with you in this practice leaves with the breath.

One more time,

Allowing you to inhale through the nose and as you exhale out the mouth,

Softening every last piece of tension that you find in your body as you exhale.

This is a practice about giving yourself permission to be your authentic self.

Who you are when there is nothing shaping your thoughts like negative self-talk,

Doubt,

Fears,

Or even what others want or expect of you.

This is about expanding and settling into your true self.

In just a moment,

I'm going to ask you a question.

Allow your answer to come exactly how it wants to.

Letting go of judgment,

Letting go of expectations on how you think it should come to you,

Or whatever the answer is or should be.

If an answer doesn't come right away,

Trust that in divine timing it will,

At exactly the right moment.

Ask yourself,

Where in my life am I hiding my true self?

Your answer may or may not surprise you,

But allow your answer to be a seed of awareness that you plant that stays with you as you navigate your day.

A reminder of when you might need to shift gears to connect back to the real authentic you.

Now is the time to bring your Sankalpa into the practice.

If you are working with a Sankalpa,

Mentally repeat three times.

If you do not have a Sankalpa,

If it resonates with you,

You can mentally repeat,

I am able to confidently listen to the desires of my true self.

Now we'll begin to move around the body as I name body parts.

This is an exercise for you to just allow your awareness to drift from one place to the next.

Learning to let go of any attachment,

And to just be present and notice what is.

Gently bring your awareness to your third eye center.

Imagine breathing in and out the third eye center three times.

Awareness now to your right eye,

Left eye,

Tip of the nose,

Lips,

Inside the right cheek,

Inside left cheek,

The teeth,

Tip of the tongue,

The whole tongue from tip to root,

Center of the throat,

Hollow pit of the throat.

Imagine breathing in and out the hollow pit of the throat three times.

The right chest,

Right shoulder,

Elbow,

Wrist,

Palm of the hand,

Back of the hand,

Tip of the right thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Right hip,

Center of the thigh,

Knee,

Center of the shin,

The ankle bone,

Top of the foot,

Bottom of the foot,

Right big toe,

Second,

Third,

Fourth,

Fifth toe.

Moving back up to the left side of the chest,

Left shoulder,

Elbow,

Wrist,

Palm of the hand,

Back of the hand,

Tip of the left thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Left hip,

Center of the thigh,

Knee,

Center of the shin,

The ankle bone,

Top of the foot,

Bottom of the foot,

Left big toe,

Second,

Third,

Fourth,

Fifth toe.

Move your gentle awareness up to the heart center.

Imagine breathing three times through the heart center.

Find your breath now.

Invite your awareness to fall onto the natural breath without changing or shaping how you're breathing.

Practicing the ability to witness without interfering.

Count the breath down now.

Inhaling for 10,

Exhaling for 10,

Inhaling for 9,

Exhaling for 9,

All the way down to 1.

Starting over if you need to.

Allow your awareness to drift away from your breath,

And move to behind the forehead,

And rest here for a few moments,

Experiencing your true self.

Welcome back your Sankalpa,

Mentally repeating three times,

Or borrowing the one from beginning of practice.

I am able to confidently listen to the desires of my true self.

Become softly aware of the quality of your mind,

And take a deep breath in through the nose.

Letting it out the nose or mouth,

Whichever one feels best.

Taking another breath if that felt good.

Becoming aware of how the body feels on the surface below you.

Coming back to the seed of awareness that you planted earlier.

Noticing how it feels to be your true self.

Any resonance from the practice of shedding all the layers of thoughts and fears and vritti,

And becoming still and home to your true self.

Whenever it feels right for you,

Go ahead and begin to wake the body in a manner that feels perfect for this moment,

And you can open your eyes as your practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.

Thank you for joining me for this meditation to help you guide you back to your true self.

Again,

My name is Lauren Runyon,

And this is Studio R,

And I'm really glad to have you here with me today.

Comforting, reverent authenticity meditation. Offers a slightly different experience on the subject than I have experienced before—exploring within and adjacent to the body as an observation to feel out one’s “true self”. Peaceful and lovely. Thank you!
