Hi,

This is Lizaia and welcome to the meditations on the koshas.

In this meditation we'll be focusing on the prana maya kosha.

This is the second kosha or dimension of the self.

Prana is life force energy.

So when we meditate and work with this kosha it's about circulating the life force within your being and through your body.

Supporting your life force,

Your prana to flow well through all of the nadi's or channels in your energy system.

The prana maya kosha relates to the circulatory system.

So it supports the respiratory system,

The digestion,

Energy to that second enteric nervous system,

Second brain as it's sometimes called.

So it supports circulation through the system.

We can think of the prana maya kosha as what lights up the physical body.

So we can imagine that we have a structure like an open room.

We have the walls,

We have things in the room,

Pictures or furniture.

But without the prana maya kosha it's kind of dark and there is not as much clarity or potential for us to experience what's there.

So with the prana maya we light it up.

We turn on the light.

We go into that room and we turn on the light and we say oh look what's here.

And we have more of a vibrant and alive experience in how we are inhabiting our body and life.

So the main vehicle that supports the prana to flow through our being is the breath.

So let us now tune into the breath sensing it as this powerful,

Supportive,

Beautiful system that helps your life force travel through you.

That helps the rivers of life within you flow with ease and to help it flow better when there are blockages which happen to all of us and to the energy channels at different times.

So prana maya kosha reminds us to attend to these rivers of life.

To breathe,

To bring ease,

To invite vitality and flow into our system.

We can also imagine the work of the prana maya kosha if we can see an outline of a physical body maybe drawn on a big white piece of paper with pencil.

The prana maya kosha brings in color,

Brings in detail,

Brings in life.

So let the flow of your breath begin to deepen.

Let it lengthen.

Always working with the breath in a comfortable way.

Of course this is up to you to adapt.

So let us have a sense that when we breathe in we are bringing clarity and flow to our energy channels.

And let us sense that as we are breathing and bringing in that flow that when we breathe out we are deepening that flow.

We are deepening the movement of the river to run well.

We also might want to imagine beautiful sunlight that's shining on a river.

These rivers of life within us that is illuminating with life force making the water sparkle.

Bringing warmth,

Bringing energy.

And let us sense into the strength of this kosha,

Of this energy body that when there are blockages,

When there is sediment or a lot of build up that is in the way that we have the strength of energy to be able to clear those channels.

It may take time and concentrated effort but that we know that this is the work of the pranamaya kosha.

So let us spend just a few more breaths in this meditation today focusing on our sparkling flowing river.

River of energy.

Breathing through us with ease,

Strength and potential to keep healing,

Clearing and bringing vitality into our bodies and into our life.

And as you begin to feel ready.

You can find little movements.

Maybe an even deeper awakening breath to return to the space that you're listening to this meditation in and to enter back into your day with vitality,

Vibrancy and energy.

Namaste.

I was tired, cold and grumpy. Now I am feeling calm instead of tired and grrumpy, warm instead of cold. Thank you very much for this gift.

A lot of information given in the beginning before the meditation begins so that it is as much a teaching as a guided meditation. But I learned much and will try to use in my own meditations. A very pleasant voice and felt energised at end. Thank you for the guidance.
