Hello and welcome.

This is LaZiah Richards,

Mental health therapist and yoga instructor.

This is the third meditation on the koshas.

The third dimension of ourselves,

Which is the manomaya kosha,

The mind dimension.

The mind is the place where we process our thoughts and emotions,

Where we get conditioned and patterned to think,

Behave and respond in certain ways.

This meditation will support us to be in relationship with the mind where we can observe,

Watch and get clarity about what is moving through the space of manomaya kosha.

So let your body be in a comfortable seated or laying position.

Take a moment to make any adjustments and start to find more ease and more softness in your physical body.

Relaxing through the eyes,

Through the jaw,

Through the shoulders.

Let your awareness come in contact with the breath.

Take a moment to feel this flow of your inhale and your exhale.

The breath that supports your life force to flow through your body,

Heart and mind.

Imagine that you are laying down in a field,

A field where there is green,

Soft,

Comfortable grass underneath you.

Maybe your body is laying directly on the grass.

Maybe there's a soft blanket that you're laying on and you can just feel the grass underneath you.

Let there be a tree that is near where you're laying that's providing some shade and some support.

Above you there is an open blue expansive sky and you can see and feel the sky through the branches of the trees.

There's enough space for the clarity of the sky to be there.

Just take a moment feeling the support of the earth underneath your body.

The tree providing some shade,

Companionship and the expansiveness of the sky.

Let us imagine that the sky is our mind,

Our Manomaya kosha.

Let us begin to observe this mind of ours.

Start to observe the quality of your mind in this moment.

Does it feel like fast rapids in a river?

Does it feel like slow waves?

Does it feel tense or relaxed or maybe starting to relax since we have begun the meditation?

As we work with observing our mind we do so with curiosity and non-judgment.

We do so that we can have awareness of what's moving through us and choice and how we relate to what is here.

Bring your awareness now to your thoughts.

Let's imagine that the thoughts are like clouds that are moving across your sky and then out of where you can see them.

Thoughts moving in and thoughts moving out.

Observe what are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

Realizing them and then letting them pass on by.

Continuing to take the next several moments to notice the flow of your thoughts,

The flow of your feelings.

Knowing that there is no judgment,

No good,

No bad,

No I'm supposed to think or feel this or that.

That there is just this flow.

And with this flow we know that we have choice.

We know that we can observe the thoughts coming and going.

We know that maybe we want to stay and spend some time diving in a little bit deeper into certain thoughts or certain feelings.

Maybe there are certain thoughts or feelings that we just invite to move and release.

When there are thoughts and feelings that may feel stubborn or may feel more lodged in the mind,

That we offer compassion,

We offer curiosity and that we remember even though there may be stuckness of thought or of particular patterns that we are the sky.

The Mano Maya teachings remind us that the thoughts,

The feelings,

The patterns,

The conditioning is just part of the mind.

That we are the sky.

We are this expansive,

Open potential.

That we are also the thinker and the feeler.

That we are the observer and the visionary.

And that we have choice in how we work with this dimension of ourselves,

With what we focus on,

Pay attention to,

Develop and release.

So let us just spend a few more moments here,

Both observing what flows through the mind and experiencing the sky that our mind also is.

Remembering that we have choice and freedom.

So take a moment and sense your body laying on this grass underneath the open sky,

Sensing the support of the earth energy grounding and holding you.

Behind the tree next to you,

Providing support,

Just the right amount of shade.

And as you begin to feel ready,

You may want to take some little movements,

The fingers,

The toes,

Be sensing the breath.

Eventually opening your eyes and returning into the space that you have been listening to this meditation.

Thank you so much for listening.

I wish you and your Mano Maya kosha,

Your mind well on your journey.

Namaste.

This really took me to the next level. Have heard the sky being us and clouds as thoughts. But never so eloquently and for a purpose. Thank you.
