You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I am your host Liz Carlisle.
Thank you so much for tuning into another guided meditation,
For pressing play,
For taking the time to create a sense of wellness and calm around your day.
Most people don't take this time,
Even though it only takes a few minutes.
It requires carving out the space,
Carving out the quiet,
And intentionally sitting down and tuning in.
So thank you.
As we settle into this practice,
I want you to bring your awareness to your body,
Whether you're lying flat on your back or seated in a chair or whether you're sitting on a cushion on the floor.
It doesn't matter.
What matters is that you're comfortable and you're ready to get quiet.
If you're a beginner,
This may seem a little strange,
But the more you do this,
The quicker you're able to tune in,
To drop in to this altered state of awareness.
And the guiding element leading you here is your breath.
So focus on the inhalation of the air through your nose,
How it feels as your lungs expand and how it feels when the air leaves your body.
It's a gentle rhythm that you've had since birth that will only stop when it's your time to leave.
Right now,
Recognize how truly alive you are.
Notice the sensations within your body,
Those automatic processes that enable you to read,
To laugh,
To love,
To experience this precious life.
Keep breathing.
This is only a few short minutes.
Feel yourself sinking deeper to the floor.
Feel your energy expand from your heart all the way to your fingertips.
Keep breathing.
Keep noticing.
And with every breath,
You relax deeper and deeper into your altered state,
One where you don't experience anxiety or worries or regret or shame.
These sacred minutes are your reprieve from all of that.
When you get stronger,
The longer you're here.
And with every breath,
You relax deeper and deeper into your altered state.
Take the next 30 seconds to think of three things.
That make you happy.
Three things that you're grateful for.
Whether it's your pet sitting next to you wondering what you're doing.
Your child in the other room.
Your partner.
Your job.
A memory.
Think of three and hold it in your heart and feel the emotion that comes up when you do.
Starting now.
Come back into your body.
But as you do,
I want you to hold that feeling of love,
Of gratitude in your heart.
I wanted to travel to every cell in your body.
To heal it.
To nourish it.
To remove toxicity that you've been holding on to.
Thank you so much for doing this meditation.
I don't even know you,
But I feel connected.
Because you are someone who wants to do the work.
Who seeks it out.
And not only do I understand that,
I need it too.
So thank you for joining me on this journey of life and awakening and happiness.
Namaste.
