You're listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlyle.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tune in to relax and connect with who you really are.

Today's meditation is all about embodying your body.

To understand what's really going on and to listen to what your body is telling you.

Often in our day we can get so in our heads and miss out on the important messages coming from within about everything.

So when you're ready,

Get into a comfortable position.

You can be seated in a chair on the floor or lying flat on your back in bed or on your yoga mat.

Close your eyes.

Begin to elongate your breaths.

As you feel your nervous system beginning to calm down just from focusing on your breathing,

Start to realize the immense power that you have within you and your breath to completely change what you're thinking about,

How you're feeling,

And your perceptions of the world.

It's in this realization that you can find true freedom from feeling like you're not in control.

Because though we can't control their circumstances outside of us,

We can absolutely control how we react to them.

And it all begins with the breath.

Let's take a deep breath in together.

Deep breath in,

Hold,

And release.

Deep breath in,

Hold,

And release.

Deep breath in,

Hold,

And release.

Deep breath in,

Hold,

And release.

Turn to a gentle rhythmic breath.

Maybe roll your shoulders back.

Do some gentle neck rolls,

One side and then the other.

Start to feel at home in your body.

Start to send gratitude to every inch,

Starting at the top of your head,

Sliding down.

Think every muscle,

Every inch of tissue and cell,

All that it does for you.

That it allows you to perceive this world and everything in it with such clarity.

Your life is a gift and you are a gift to the world.

Keep breathing and building that energy of gratitude and love for your body.

Start to realize the true miracle that exists within you.

With every breath,

Relax deeper and deeper into this knowing and implement a small smile.

First imagine what it would look like to smile and then find the corners of your mouth turning upwards in a quiet sense of contentment.

Keep breathing.

Gently place one hand on your belly and one hand on your heart.

Continuing to have that small quiet smile and gentle rhythmic breath,

Truly tune in.

Imagine yourself as a child.

What would you say to that little person?

What did they need?

Give them what they need right now in this moment in the ethereal.

Make it personal.

If you're like me,

You might feel chills during this.

There's magic happening.

Whether you realize it or not,

You're doing deep internal healing and every cell knows it.

Keep breathing and visualizing.

When it's time to come out,

I'll let you know.

Come back into the now.

Take some deeper breaths.

You can wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you're ready,

Fully ready,

You can flutter your eyes open.

Notice the change within your body already and in your spirit.

This was a short meditation but how powerful.

And you did it.

You did it.

I was just your guide.

Thank you for doing the work,

Truly.

Thank you for being a light in the world,

To show others how life could be.

Because without you,

The world is definitely a darker place.
