Allow your eyes to comfortably close.

And breathe out.

In your own time,

Become aware of how you are engaging with this moment.

Perhaps everything seems a bit close up.

Perhaps you are waiting for something to happen.

Perhaps there's a sense of things being important.

Perhaps you are holding on to your breath.

Notice how much energy it takes to organize yourself in this way.

Notice the inner contractions it creates.

On your next out-breath,

Allow the way you are engaging with this moment to soften.

Breathe it out on your breath.

Breathe out any watching and waiting.

Breathe out any holding on to your breath.

Let it all soften and flow out as you exhale.

Turn those inner intensity dials down.

And sit back.

As you do so,

Breathe out some more.

Step down from your mind.

And gently become aware of your body making contact with the surface beneath it.

Soften into its support.

Surrender the weight of your body.

In your own time,

Allow your out-breath to flow down the full length of your body.

Down to the steady support beneath you.

And sit back some more.

As you do so,

Allow your eyes to soften.

And rest back in your head.

Behind your closed eyelids.

Let your eyes know they don't have to work hard right now.

Allow any tension and tiredness to flow out of your eyes on your out-breath.

As you sit back on the steadiness beneath you,

Allowing your eyes to rest.

Let your mind do the same.

Let it soften and sit back.

Cradled in the back of your head.

Breathe out any tension and holding in the mind.

Let it flow out,

Down and away.

In your own time,

Notice if you're wanting to get anything right or needing things to be a certain way.

Let that soften too.

Breathe it out.

And sit back some more.

Allow everything to be just as it is in this moment.

Without judging or attaching to anything.

Soften the way you are observing yourself and the moment.

Sit back.

Allow any intensity to flow out on your breath.

Notice if you are trying too hard.

Let it soften.

There's no need to try at all.

Let it flow out on your breath.

Just soften and sit back into the steady support beneath and behind you.

Allowing everything to be as it is.

Let it flow out on your breath.

Gently notice.

Gently notice what happens when you soften the way you are engaging with the moment.

And sit back.

And in your own time,

You can draw this meditation to a close.

Gently relax.
