How do you get into the deep spaces of meditation?

How is meditation supposed to feel like?

Is there a right way to meditate?

I often wondered about this and in my own journey it was very important for me and it still is that there is no right or wrong.

In a sense it all just is because we sometimes have complicated minds as humans because we sometimes want an explanation and we want structure and we want to understand.

That can sometimes sound,

It can be a little flowy and out there and what I've learned in my own journey is to cultivate a balance between the two of them because it really is the balance between the structure and the balance between the flow that kind of makes us able to go into the middle.

That creates that balance that really gets us into the depth of the space,

The meditational space.

And how do you meditate?

How is it supposed to feel?

Again I want to be mindful in saying that it doesn't have to feel a certain way.

It's not supposed to be just one way.

There can certainly be qualities that are similar when we ask numerous people and of course we still have our own unique experience and thought of how it's supposed to feel like.

It can be a breath of feeling calm.

You decide what meditation is supposed to feel like for you.

Surrender to it.

Be open for miracles and also to be mindful of that balance.

I think it's really important to let go of that strictness a little bit.

How it is supposed to be and more so allow.

When we allow there's almost like this door that opens into the depth of what meditation can be.

Something that I personally have felt when I meditate leading up to the deepest moments of meditation for me.

I like to call this the click and the click is really when you get into the middle of yourself so to say.

So imagine that you might be a little off-center or you might be a little stressed or you might not be fully grounded into your body.

You are then to the side of yourself a bit and coming into the middle into the very very center of yourself the middle would be your energy field in one sense.

You are so if you're energetically a little bit off-center and you're coming into the center of your energy field that is spinning around your body so you're not above it or below it.

You're not to the side and at another level you are everywhere but you are in the middle of your field.

That is the click.

When you are in balance also in the middle you are between your two brain halves so you are in the middle of your brain halves so to say.

You are in the center of your head so at your pineal gland also your third eye.

You also are in your heart and when you are at the center sometimes I really actually find it is like an actual click.

You just align and you come into focus and from that space you can now start to go deeply inward,

Travel and truly explore places beyond our physical eyes,

Beyond our imagination really.

It's very healing,

Very beautiful and I like to believe it is the seed and source of wisdom and higher knowledge I would say.

This is for me how it feels when I meditate,

What feels right and now if you are a beginner or if you haven't meditated for that long or if you have meditated for many years and you haven't reached these spaces that is okay.

We all have our own journey,

We all have our own experiences and it is your own unique individual experience that is the most important so trust your journey.

Also I want to say that it really does not always mean that if you have meditated several years or if you are a complete beginner when it comes to potentially getting into these spaces.

There are so many other aspects to this depth.

Sometimes I work with people that get into these spaces after a few days or weeks because they have an openness to them,

They believe and they are good at surrendering.

The less we use our mind in trying to understand things and do things and instead just be,

Surrender,

I believe in some cases the sooner we might find the click and deepen our inner journey.

There are many different ways of using our minds and there is an art to allowing our mind to surrender.

Now how do you get to these spaces?

There are a number of things that we can do.

One first thing that we can do is to center ourself before meditation because if we are not aligned with our energy field it can become tricky to reap the benefits of the beautiful universal source that is always flowing to us.

We have to sort of say be inside our bodies to catch it.

Now some of us naturally meditate to get centered and in some cases our lives can be so stressful that if we're living a very stressful life it can simply just feel like it's too much to do something else before meditating which can certainly be understandable.

In my world for me doing a quick centering exercise has been very helpful.

It's almost like if you know a path for a long time it's often smooth right?

With everything the first time when you walk the path let's say from A to B it might be really hard to find your way to B.

It may be overwhelming but then we walk it again and it's a little smoother and you walk it again and it's a little more smooth or you know the way a little bit more by heart.

Maybe you can even put a little gravel on the road for it to be easier to walk through the swamp for example and the next time it's a little smoother and the next time a little smoother and a little smoother to get from A to B meaning that your body automatically learns the pathway in how to center in this case,

How to make it happen and the more you practice the more you are working out this muscle as you may have heard a bunch of times.

The easier it is to get from A to B getting centered and your body knows.

Some days we can just sit down,

We take a breath,

We get into space and we get into it right away.

Now each time is not going to be the same,

Each time is different so to ground or center ourselves before the meditation practice or making it a part of the practice is beneficial.

Now how do we do that?

Well it can be a tapping EFT sequence,

It can look like breathing a few deep breaths beforehand,

It can look like putting your hand on your heart and saying a few kind words to yourself,

It can look like drinking a glass of water or making sure that your physical body is feeling comfortable,

You can literally visualize and draw your body back into your energy field and the list goes on.

Other ways of reaching this click when it comes to meditation is to accept and surrender.

This is such an important part,

Acceptance and surrender in so many ways and not trying to get to anything because if we try we have kind of already stumbled upon something that is not part of meditation and it can certainly become a part of it when we may struggle and that is definitely valid.

Instead if we surrender we surrender to it,

We let it be the way it is,

We let it be and we accept and we move our focus away from trying and thinking about something so much,

We allow it to be the way it is.

However our experiences or how we feel in the moment,

Soften,

Allow it,

Soften,

Allow it and soften and practicing that will guide us into that click.

The click cannot happen by forcing anything,

Allowing our inner wisdom that kind of kicks on by itself when we surrender because we all inside know the way it is our birthright.

It is more so about unlearning behaviors.

Another really great part in getting to these deep spaces is to actively work with our third eye and heart.

Your heart is truly the gateway to a magnificent number of different things,

Working with your heart,

Working with your heart chakra.

Are you holding on to anything that you can soften into?

Are you holding on to something that you can let go of?

Often when we are not fully in our hearts or connected to our hearts it often means that we are actually holding on to something and sometimes something really painful can happen to us,

Something really unfair,

Something that feels incredibly heartbreaking and it is still our heart in a sense that is holding on to an experience.

Now we can also go in on trauma and losing soul fragments but let's leave that for another time.

If we focus on the heart perhaps we have not forgiven something that might have happened.

We might not trust in whatever happened to be the way it is and how can we now move on?

This can definitely be easier said than done and I have a lot of compassion for this so to soften that heart,

Letting go of something that we might hold on to and truly trusting the process for our own happiness and well-being that we deserve.

We may ask well what does my heart has to do with how deep I can go in meditation?

Well you see everything is connected right?

It can truly guide us into a deeper space.

The more depth we can reach in the heart and the more constriction or the more we are holding on to something is really a beautiful clue and gateway,

A big leap in how deep we can actually go.

If we choose to see it that way it's all a choice right?

One way to wake that heart up working with our heart is with sound.

Sound is always very powerful and we know that simply listening to an emotional piece of music,

How that can really move us,

Move us into a different state of mood or being and if we choose to listen to a drumbeat and tune into the heart it can really open up things.

Also hearing music with the heart,

Hearing music with our chakras can be extremely powerful as if the chakra is the ear that we listen with.

We can also tap our heart lightly or hold our heart with our hand simply telling our heart that we are ready to tend to it,

Have a conversation with our heart,

Letting know that we are here for our heart.

That can really really activate things and take us on a deep journey and the very same thing with our third eye or other chakras,

The more we can open them the more we can open to deeper spaces,

The gateway to go in there and learning how to activate our different energy centers,

Activate our third eye.

And it also really comes down to mind,

Body and soul,

The gateway to depth.

How is my nutrition?

What is my water intake like?

Is my water intake clean?

Do I move my body?

Do I get rid of stagnation?

What thoughts do I tend to have in my mind?

Fluoride and things that are around us in our environment these days,

Either that we ingest or that we expose ourselves to.

Electricity,

To be mindful of our screen time and how we engage when we are around electronics and really getting a bigger picture of how we ourselves work and what affects us.

How does it affect us?

What can we do in our life to make it all flow in a better cycle for our own well-being?

What is also helpful to get into the deeper spaces is to be aware of our left and right brains and to balance.

So notice if you are really structured and goal-oriented versus if you are really flowy,

Intuitive,

Maybe taking things as they come,

Artistic.

It can be good to balance things in our lives.

If you are really structured,

Directional and goal-oriented,

Perhaps switch that up with something that makes you flow more.

Or if you are really flowy,

Perhaps it is time to create some sort of structure or schedule that will assist you,

Not stress you,

But assist you in your evolutionary journey.

Also binaural beats are fantastic for balancing your brain.

Then we come into focus.

Focus is quite of importance in meditation.

This is something that we are a bit hijacked in today.

Our attention span is often a lot shorter today than a few years ago and we are moving into more and more quickness and fastness,

Social media,

Electronics,

Constant stimulation quickly.

Our attention span is different.

So how can we practice focus?

Well again,

Meditation can be a great way of learning and practicing in how to focus.

But perhaps we can take it outside of meditation and practice a little bit in our everyday to allow ourselves,

When we do get into these spaces,

Allow us to stay there a little longer in meditation and not flick out of it right away.

So how can we focus a little better?

Well we can focus by looking at an object for example,

In our everyday.

Look at a pen for example.

And the challenge is to look at it for two minutes.

Just look at this pen and see what information can come from this pen.

What discoveries can you make of this pen and how long can you keep your thoughts only focused on this object that you choose.

If your thoughts run away with you,

Gently guide them back to the object and you will see with practice that your thoughts will be able to stay on the object more and more.

And you may think,

Well why should I stare at a pen for two minutes a day?

And I will almost assure you that this will assist you in life.

This is one of those small things in life that is truly worth gold.

And not just when it comes to meditation but in many other areas of your life in regards to focus as well.

And lastly another little trick for getting deeper into meditation,

That is to expose yourself to cold water beforehand.

It can really center us and bring us back into our bodies.

The cold water really snaps us back into center.

Combining all of these things together or picking out what you feel would be of benefit for you will get you into that click space.

It will be a great leap in getting you into that deep centered space in the middle.

With love in my heart,

Blessings on your journey.
