Many of us have overactive inner managers (for valid reasons!), and sometimes this can help us feel in control, it can also be exhausting, burdensome, quite often debilitating! Phew. We may not realize there is another way to be. In this 20 minute rest we try on the brain science that tells us that we can utilize attention in such a way to quiet certain brain centers, and turn on other brain centers. We go slow, connecting with simple experiences, which helps our observational and witnessing brain centers turn on. As our brain starts to co-regulate with simple experiences, we notice judgement, but don’t get swept up by stories. We start to experience the space outside of judgement, discovering the space of compassion, as we get more and more familiar with simple anchoring experiences that our attention can be curious with.
