This meditation will serve as a tool you can come back to when you're feeling sad/off-center. One principle to keep in mind is that you want to embrace your sadness completely without any resistance. This can be an opportunity for you to become more introspective. Once the resistance has melted away, we can then start to visualize a better mood/state from an empty space. You might need to repeat the initial step of embracing resistance if the emotion is too strong.

Welcome.

This will be a meditation that you can come back to whenever you're feeling sad or down.

Take a moment,

Find a comfortable seat,

And start to bring your tension inwards.

And before we get started,

Just be appreciative of your current state at this moment.

Sadness is a great way of looking inwards and becoming introspective.

So just allow that energy to fill your body.

As you look inwards and sense the bodily sensations in your body,

You might notice a heavy sensation in your chest.

Just bring your mind's eye to that area and simply watch the sensations rise and fall.

And if you're currently not overwhelmed by the sensations that you feel,

You can start to close your eyes to go deeper.

And as you watch these sensations spread across your chest,

See where else this feeling extends to in your body.

And as you close your eyes,

See where else this feeling extends to in your body.

And just allow any sensations pass through your body without any resistance.

See if you can welcome the state of inner awareness.

And just allow any sensations pass through your body without any resistance.

And now,

Feeling totally at ease in this present moment,

See if you can now visualize a better state.

Imagine how you'll carry yourself,

How you'll walk,

How you'll talk after this meditation ends.

And now,

Feeling better in your body,

Gently start to open your eyes if they're closed.

Blink your eyes a couple of times,

Bringing your awareness back to this present moment.

Thank you.

Created space for me to sit with the sadness. In doing this, I was able to validate and accept my own feelings, which helped me feel a bit better. Thank you...
