This super quick exercise is designed to help immediately raise your confidence. According to research, exercises like this lower the stress hormone cortisol and increase levels of testosterone - two of the main hormones that affect confidence. This is perfect to do right before a big event, interview, presentation, or difficult conversation.

Today,

The goal is confidence.

We're going to talk about embodying confidence and standing more confidently and taking up space in order to trigger to our brain that it's time to be and feel confident.

So regardless of where you are right now,

I'd love for you to stand up,

Roll your shoulders back.

Think about putting your shoulder blades down towards the ground and bringing your belly button towards your spine.

Stand tall,

Almost as if there's a string of beads at the top of your head to connect to the ceiling that's just pulling you upright.

And that's where we're going to start our meditation today.

So if it feels good to you,

Feel free to close your eyes.

If you'd rather leave them open,

Have a soft focus so you can just kind of relax into the exercise we're going to do today.

So now that you're standing nice and tall,

Take your feet hip width distance apart and really start to notice all of the different points where your foot touches the ground.

Think about each toe and grounding each toe into the ground that you're standing on.

Think about the back of your heel grounding into the ground.

And think about really rooting into the ground that you're standing on and shooting up from it again with that tall spine and that pull that brings you up towards the ceiling.

And take a nice big deep breath in here,

Letting the air fill up your belly,

Your chest,

Whatever feels good to you and let it all out.

We're going to do that a couple more times,

Really focusing on taking a big deep inhale and then letting it all go.

Last one,

Breathe in deep and let it all go.

Now take your hands up above your head,

Create an X with your body,

Reaching your fingers out as far as they will go,

Stretching them as far as they will go.

Create this X,

Take as much space up as you can and just sit in this confident strength pose.

Hold this for as long as feels good.

And if you'd like envision your success and whatever it is that you're focusing on,

Think about how being confident in the situation that you're in will positively impact your result.

If you're going in for an interview,

Think about how amazing you'll be in that room and all of the amazing things that you can offer.

If you're having a tough conversation with someone or if you're going to have a tough conversation with someone,

Think about how being confident and compassionate will positively impact that other person and make that conversation easier.

There are so many ways that confidence plays a positive part in our lives.

So today I just want you to soak up that strength by standing big and tall and taking up space.

Take some time to envision whatever feels good to you.

And when you're ready,

You can bring your hands down,

Take a big deep breath in,

Let it all go and go about your day.

I love to do this strength exercise everywhere.

I used to do it in the bathroom stalls at the workplace and it was so helpful to remind myself I'm strong and confident no matter where I am.

So I hope this helps you as well and I can't wait to see you next time.

Bye.

I love this, it was short and packed full of strength. I had my students do it before their presentations. It was a good distraction for their minds and they said they felt more confident when done. Much thanks 🌻
