Welcome.

This is a short grounding practice designed to help you arrive more fully in any therapeutic space,

Whether that's a session with a therapist,

Journaling,

Or simply checking in with yourself.

You don't need any special posture or setting,

Just a willingness to pause for a few minutes and reconnect with what's true for you right now.

This short meditation is here to help you arrive,

Not just physically to your therapy session,

But mentally and emotionally too.

So wherever you are,

Let yourself find stillness,

Take a seat,

Feel the ground beneath you,

Let your spine lift gently,

Not rigid,

Just awake.

Take a slow breath in through your nose,

And exhale through your mouth.

Each breath says,

I'm here,

I'm safe.

And as you settle,

Notice what you're carrying today.

No need to fix or judge,

Just name it.

Maybe it's exhaustion,

Maybe anticipation,

Maybe that quiet buzz of,

I don't know what I feel yet.

Whatever it is,

It's allowed.

Imagine you're sitting in the waiting room before your therapy session.

You can feel the subtle shift between the outside world and what's about to begin.

Let your body register that transition like crossing a threshold.

You're stepping out of doing and into being.

As you breathe,

Ask yourself gently,

What do I need from today's session?

Don't overthink,

Just notice what arises.

A word,

An image,

A feeling,

A thought.

Let that intention rest in your awareness,

Like a small stone in your hand.

If your mind starts to wander,

That's okay.

Therapy isn't about staying perfectly focused,

It's about noticing when you drift and returning kindly.

Practice that now.

Come back to your breath.

Let's take three more slow,

Steady breaths together.

Inhale,

Exhale,

Exhale.

You're ready to begin,

Not because you have everything figured out,

But because you've arrived fully,

Honestly,

As you are.

I'm Dominic Goddori,

And this has been a metatherapy moment.

Because therapy works better when you know how to use it.

And that begins with presence.

Have a great session.
