In the Vedas,
Brahman is described as imperishable,
Absolute,
Undying,
Omniscient,
Omnipotent,
And omnipresent.
Brahman is awareness,
Consciousness,
Eternal truth,
Universal wisdom,
And infinite existence.
We may think of ourselves as physical bodies,
Experiencing consciousness,
When in fact Brahman is consciousness,
Experiencing the physical body.
As we begin this meditation,
Turn your attention to your breath,
And begin inhaling and exhaling through your nose.
As you notice your body and your mind becoming calm,
Begin observing your breath and the function of breathing.
Silently count your next five breaths.
When you've completed your fifth breath,
Take a moment to contemplate how you would describe yourself.
You may start with your name,
Age,
Gender.
You may continue with job,
Marital status,
Whether or not you have children.
You may add in your nationality,
Your political affiliation,
Your thoughts,
Feelings,
Hopes,
Dreams,
And emotions.
You may even have an awareness that you're a different person when you encounter different situations or social circles.
These experiences are all manifestations of the physical body.
Take a moment to contemplate if you are something deeper than those descriptions of yourself.
You know you are something deeper.
You are Brahman.
You are consciousness experiencing a physical body.
Take a moment to become aware of your consciousness in your physical body.
Much like a gold ring can be melted and turned into different trinkets,
It will always be gold.
The different forms are simply physical manifestations of gold.
As you turn your attention further inward,
You may begin to experience the truth.
You are consciousness.
Your age,
Your gender,
Your job,
Emotions,
Social interactions,
They're all manifestations of your physical body.
As you examine your consciousness,
Absent of your physical body,
You may even notice that physical and emotional pain,
As well as anxiety,
Will disappear.
Continue to experience your consciousness rather than your physical body,
Remembering that you are the energy of your consciousness,
Not a physical body.
As you continue to examine your consciousness,
Become aware of a single manifestation of your physical body.
Now take a moment to contemplate how it is connected with your physical being.
Begin to focus your attention inward.
Begin to visualize being devoid of space,
Time,
And form.
You are everything,
Everywhere,
Always.
Brahman has no boundaries or limitations.
There is nothing before or after Brahman because Brahman is infinite.
Take a few moments to experience your consciousness,
Your Brahman,
With no boundaries or limitations,
Remembering that you are everything,
Everywhere,
Always.
You are devoid of space,
Time,
And form.
Continue to experience your consciousness.
Continue to experience your consciousness.
Continue to experience your consciousness.
Continue to experience your consciousness.
Continue to experience your consciousness.
Continue to experience your consciousness.
Slowly begin to return to the breath,
Silently counting your next three breaths,
Gently returning to your normal breathing pattern,
Beginning to find some slight movement in your fingers and toes,
And maybe now your larger limbs.
Begin to bring your awareness back to the room you're sitting in,
And experience calm and serenity as you continue with your day.
