Welcome to the Bless the Mess series,

Mindfulness for a new normal.

In times of great change,

We need to learn how to embrace a new normal.

We have to let our pain birth our process.

We have to let our mess become our message.

We can use times of upheaval and great challenge as a stepping stone,

Rather than a stumbling block.

Sometimes,

In order for us to go from surviving to thriving,

We have to start fresh,

And we may even need to reinvent ourselves along the way.

There is a Japanese philosophy of decluttering and organizing that provides a great analogy for the mind.

Just like a clean,

Organized room helps you feel more calm and relaxed,

So does a clear and open mind.

Practicing mindfulness is like standing out in the rain on a hot summer's day.

It clears the cobwebs of the mind.

In mindfulness,

This is known as the beginner's mind.

When you clear away all of the old expectations,

You see things from a fresh perspective.

You begin to let go of how you think things should be.

You let go of what you think is supposed to happen and move into a space of openness where you allow for change.

And that's a beautiful way to be.

So let go of all of those expectations.

Start fresh.

Let go of the tendency to be an expert.

And close your eyes.

Let your mind and body relax.

Take a few deep breaths and settle into this space in time.

Notice how your body feels as you breathe in and out.

Let the breath be your safe,

Calm anchor.

Take some time to reflect.

Notice how the air feels as it moves through your body.

See if it feels warm or cool.

Notice any feelings in your body like tightness,

Tingling,

Or pressure.

Try and see each new moment as fresh and new.

And picture yourself sitting in a beautiful,

Clean space.

This is a place with absolutely no clutter.

A place that is clear and open.

Notice what you see,

Sense,

Or feel as you rest your mind.

Notice how clear your mind feels in this open,

Clean space.

Try and see things from a fresh perspective today.

Start fresh.

Imagine the possibilities.

Sit here for as long as you want,

Just drinking in this experience.

This is a place of total peace and serenity.

A vacation for the mind.

A clean,

Open space where you can breathe and think.

And as you sit here,

Try and see things with the beginner's mind as though you were experiencing it for the very first time.

Let go of any expectations you have for your life.

If you're trying to embrace a new normal,

Open up your mind to the limitless possibilities all around you.

The truth is,

You can do anything you put your mind to.

If life gives you lemons,

You can make lemonade.

You can start over.

You can reinvent yourself.

There is always a way to start fresh.

When you open up your mind,

Amazing things start to happen.

You are better able to see the tremendous possibilities.

Make a pact to try and see things with a fresh perspective today,

With a child's eyes.

Live each moment fully and completely.

Try and see things with a sense of wonder and curiosity.

And in this quiet space,

Ask your mind what you need to be aware of today to live a peaceful,

Prosperous life.

Ask for a message to help you start fresh.

The mind will always answer.

Try that now.

And if you don't get a clear message,

Ask for the message to be sent to you in whatever way you will understand.

This might be an intuitive nudge,

A phone call from a friend,

Or even a phrase out of a book.

You may even get a message through a dream.

Let go of trying to figure things out.

Bless the mess.

Let the universe guide you.

Have faith that you are being guided in ways that will bring amazing results.

And with that,

Open your eyes and bring yourself back into the present moment.
