Welcome to the Breath Reset.
I'm Leslie,
And I'm here to guide you through a simple but powerful practice that you can use anytime overwhelm starts to take over.
Life comes at us fast every day.
It's so easy to get swept into busyness and overwhelm without realizing it.
Many of us don't notice we're caught in that spinning cycle until we're hours or sometimes days deep into it.
And when we do realize it,
It can feel nearly impossible to settle ourselves down enough to find peace again.
That's where this practice comes in.
It will help you settle yourself so you can move forward in a more relaxed state.
The Breath Reset is something you can do anywhere,
Anytime.
No one needs to know you're doing it,
But you.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position,
Whether you're sitting or lying down.
You can close your eyes if it feels safe to do so,
Or simply soften your gaze downward.
We're going to take three deep breaths together.
For each breath,
I want you to make your exhale twice as long as your inhale.
So we'll breathe in for a count of three and out for a count of six.
One inhale and one exhale equals one complete breath.
Before we begin with breath number one,
Notice where you feel any overwhelm,
Tension or stress in your body right now.
Now inhale slowly for three,
Two,
One,
And exhale for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Where in your body did you feel the overwhelm?
Your shoulders,
Your chest,
Your stomach?
Just acknowledge whatever you discovered.
Say that part of your body silently in your mind.
Now for breath number two.
This time,
As you breathe,
Focus on softening that area you just identified.
When you exhale,
Imagine that overwhelm drifting out and away from you.
Breathe in for three,
Two,
One,
And as you exhale for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Allow that part of your body to be softer and more relaxed.
And now for the third and final breath.
This time,
As you breathe,
Think about how you want to feel and the next small step you want to take in your day to day.
Breathe in for three,
Two,
One,
And exhale for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
And breathe naturally.
In your mind,
Silently set your intention for the feeling you want to feel and the next action you want to take today.
Make it something super small and simple.
This will help minimize any internal resistance,
Which also reduces the feeling of overwhelm.
This is how you set yourself up for peaceful productivity and success.
Set your intention now.
Now let's anchor this reset with these words.
You can say them silently in your mind or whisper them out loud.
This pause creates space for clarity and calm.
This pause creates space for clarity and calm.
This pause creates space for clarity and calm.
And now,
Remembering your intention for how you want to feel and the small action you will take,
Repeat this statement with your words for your intention.
Here's an example.
I will feel peaceful when I prepare for my meeting.
Now you say your statement with your intention.
Take a moment to notice how you feel now compared to when we began.
This is the power of the pause.
This is what becomes possible when you give yourself permission to stop,
Breathe,
And reset.
You can return to this practice anytime you feel that familiar pull of overwhelm.
Remember,
Pausing isn't quitting.
It's a moment to tune out the noise that creates the fear that kills your focus.
Once you're refocused,
You're able to move forward.
Thank you for taking the time to pause with me today.
Until next time,
Stay present,
Be peaceful,
Live prosperous.
