Welcome to Circuit Breaker Pause.

I'm Leslie.

Are you feeling caught in the familiar cycle of overwhelm,

Where the harder you try to get ahead,

The more exhausted and scattered you become?

Today,

We're going to explore how one conscious pause can interrupt this entire cycle,

Just like a circuit breaker when too much power is being used at once in your home.

Everything is working fine until suddenly it's not.

Then panic sets in.

You start rushing,

Thinking that the sooner you check things off your list,

The more relaxed you'll be.

But rushing makes you careless.

You make mistakes.

Something breaks.

And just like that,

You're caught in the current again,

Trying to fix things,

Cleaning up messes.

The more effort you put in,

The more worked up you get.

But here's what I want you to know.

One conscious pause can shut it all down.

Just like a circuit breaker protects your house from catching fire,

This pause protects your mental and emotional state from catching fire.

Let's practice this circuit breaker pause together.

Find a comfortable position,

And if it feels right,

Close your eyes or soften your gaze.

First,

Let's acknowledge what's going on right now.

Take a moment to notice what's been spinning in your mind.

What worries or pressures have been cycling through your thoughts?

Don't try to fix or solve anything.

Just notice.

Give yourself a moment to step back so you can see the whole picture.

Now,

Imagine you're reaching for that circuit breaker switch.

You're about to shut down the overwhelmed cycle that's been running on overdrive.

Take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Flip that switch.

Everything stops.

Feel the stillness.

Imagine your worries,

Your to-do list,

All of it is frozen in place.

In this quiet space,

Imagine all those tasks and pressures laid out in front of you.

Now that they are still,

You can see them clearly.

Ask yourself,

What really needs my attention right now?

What can wait until later?

Let's take three conscious breaths together,

Allowing these questions to land and clarity to settle in.

Breathe in slowly,

And exhale out.

Again,

Inhale,

And exhale.

Once more,

Inhale,

And exhale.

Now,

From this place of calm clarity,

Choose just one thing,

One task,

One step,

One direction to focus your energy on.

Just one.

Notice how different this feels from the scattered rushing.

You're no longer frantic.

You're focused.

You've chosen one thing and pushed aside the things that can wait.

Now,

You can make steady progress toward your one chosen goal,

And you're doing it with freedom from overwhelm.

When you're ready to re-engage with your day,

You'll do so mindfully,

Not from the frantic energy of overwhelm,

But from this centered place of conscious choice.

Take a moment to appreciate what just happened.

You recognized that you were overwhelmed.

Then,

By pausing,

Resting,

And breathing,

You allowed yourself to reset,

And you regained control.

Remember,

You can flip this circuit breaker any time you feel that overwhelm is taking over.

The circuit breaker pause is always available to you,

So come back to it whenever you need it.

Now,

Thank yourself for taking this time to break the cycle.

You always have the power to choose a different way.
