There are two ways to live.
You can live as if nothing is a miracle.
You can live as if everything is a miracle.
Albert Einstein I used to believe that only rich and famous people could have extraordinary lives.
The truth is,
It's more about perspective than anything else.
I never understood that until someone told me they saw my life as exceptional.
What I saw as ordinary,
Someone else saw as a miracle.
That changed my perspective in a big way.
What about you?
Are you blind to the presence of miracles in your own life?
What if you shifted your perspective?
What if you become more aware of the daily miracles around you?
Use this meditation to examine how you view your life and how that view directs your path.
Your treasures are hidden in plain sight.
When your vision becomes clear,
Your passion for life will increase and your gratitude will grow.
You may want to write down your discoveries when the meditation is done.
So feel free to pause the recording now,
Grab paper and a pen,
And tap play when you are ready to continue.
Settle into a comfortable seated position,
Either on the floor or upright in a chair.
Straighten your back and let your shoulders,
Arms,
And legs relax.
Now,
Close your eyes.
We'll begin with a breathing exercise to help your body and mind settle.
We'll inhale for four to fill the lungs and then exhale for six to empty the lungs.
Let's begin.
Inhale for two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Continue this breathing pattern on your own for the next few moments.
Now,
Set your intention for what you hope to discover in this meditation.
It doesn't matter if you experience a major breakthrough or simply take a break from the world.
Both are meaningful outcomes.
Think about what you believe is ordinary in your life.
Maybe it's your job or your home life.
Perhaps it's a hobby or something else.
Once you have it in your mind,
Your thoughts will probably tell you the story it always does about this part of your life.
Today,
I want you to challenge those thoughts.
Ask yourself if there's something fun or fascinating about this part of your life that you may have overlooked.
Get curious and see what comes up.
Something may come to you during this meditation time.
Or maybe it won't come until much later.
Just keep believing and expecting it to reveal itself.
You'll see what you need to know when you need to know it.
Now,
Think of a time when something felt amazing or miraculous to you.
Bring it to mind and experience it again right now.
What did that experience feel like?
Did you smile just as if it were happening to you all over again?
Now,
Connect with your inner wisdom.
If something amazing was possible once in your life,
Isn't it possible again?
If that's the case,
Then miracles are possibilities.
And possibilities don't seem so out of reach,
Do they?
Now,
Think about a time when you were doing something and felt fully engaged and focused.
Something that caused you to lose track of time.
A time when you felt the intensity of focus without stress or tension.
You felt emerged and flowing with the moment.
A time when you were in the zone.
Can you recall other times when you had a similar feeling?
Are there any similarities between those times?
Are there any patterns that you can detect?
These moments in your life and the parallels between them are clues that can help reveal your unique perspective and guide you to your path in life.
Now,
Consider everything you've learned about yourself in the last few minutes.
You've gathered some valuable information.
You've rediscovered miracles in your own life and opened yourself up for more.
You've remembered times that you've been in a state of flow and identified patterns in the activities that got you there.
You've allowed yourself to be guided by your inner wisdom as you connect your life's miracles.
The things that light you up and your flow state patterns.
You've moved forward on your journey of discovering you.
Sit for the next few moments and reflect on your discoveries.
Before we close this meditation,
Take a moment to thank yourself.
You've given yourself the gifts of time,
Stillness,
And quiet reflection.
And that's something to be grateful for.
Slowly bring your attention back to the present moment.
Notice the chair,
The floor,
Or whatever surface is supporting you.
Return your awareness to the space you are in.
Ready?
Slowly open your eyes.
Now is a great time to journal your insights.
How do you feel?
What have you discovered?
And what's your next move?
I'd love to hear about it.
Feel free to share in the comments.
Thanks for meditating with me.
Until next time,
Thrive every day,
Thrive anyway.
