This is a meditation to help you just sit with yourself with your emotions and see what lies beneath the doing the reactions stress of life and everything else going on.
So just take some time to get comfortable to find a quiet easy spot and start to move within.
Closing your eyes,
Starting to relax every part of your body and I want you to start with slow intentional breathing in through the nose and out slowly through the mouth in through the nose and long slow exhales.
Now I want you to just scan your body head to toe finding a breathing rhythm that feels comfortable for you and I want you to notice anywhere where your breath feels tight,
Where your energy feels stuck,
Where there's pain,
Where there's heaviness,
Where there is sorrow,
And even where there is unconsciousness avoidance of what is truly there.
Unlike clearing the brush from a thick forest,
Start to move through the layers of what is there.
Starting with one part of your body just placing all of your awareness,
All of your attention on this one spot and simply breathing into that area and acknowledging every single feeling that is here,
That your body is storing.
Emotions like these that are held in the body are like small children tugging on their parents clothing in a grocery store asking for something.
If they are not heard the asking gets louder and louder until the asking turns wider,
Bigger,
More intense.
So I want you to turn and face this child,
These emotions,
And what are they asking of you?
What are the messages within this pain,
Within this dullness,
Within this heartache?
And I want you to drop through that emotion now to the next layer and fully saturate yourself and whatever this next layer reveals itself to be.
And just breathing and acknowledging,
Breathing and acknowledging.
Your mind will want to run,
Have it stay for just a moment longer as you drop through this layer,
This feeling,
And what is beyond that.
Breathing and acknowledging,
Breathing and acknowledging.
Simply seeing it is half the work.
Simply acknowledging this exists is the work.
Once you see it,
It cannot stay the same.
It has to change,
Has to morph,
And flow into some other form.
And I want you to continue dropping through the layers beneath these emotions until you reach the positive intention underneath all of these other feelings.
Like the child in the grocery store,
They simply want to be heard.
They want to be acknowledged and loved.
There is always a positive intention waiting for you at the bottom,
An expanded,
Peaceful place.
Find it.
Taking your time to gently fall through slowly,
Elegantly all the layers that reside within yourself until you reach a layer that is beyond everything that has happened to you,
That is beyond every stressor,
Every major event and chapter in your life,
Until you find your true soul's essence.
And I want you to take this beautiful expanded state and I want you to apply it to every layer that you dropped through,
Climbing slowly your way back up,
Integrating that expansiveness,
That peace,
That bliss through every single layer,
Greeting all facets of yourself with this expanded awareness,
But mostly with kindness,
Knowing that you are a gentle soul,
Here to experience the vastness and complexities of this world that involves strong,
Intense emotions and that is okay.
Your emotions are not your enemy.
They are you,
That child asking for your awareness,
For your attention.
Give yourself permission to have that,
To experience this life in all its forms.
And as you work your way all the way up back to where you started,
Bringing this level of peace with you,
Just hold yourself in it for a moment.
Bathe in your soul's essence and the energy of who you really are,
Acknowledging all the incredible work you did today and knowing that this tenderness that lies within you is within each and every one of us,
A universal string that connects all these wild souls into a map of the most brilliant,
Beautiful light.
Knowing these emotions are here for a reason and are within each and every one of us.
Coming back to your breath,
One last time in through the nose and long,
Slow breath out through the mouth.
Notice any changes,
Any differences from the beginning of this practice and knowing that it doesn't have to be perfect,
It just has to be true.
When you're ready,
Slowly come back fully into your body,
Wiggle your feet and your toes,
Take a little stretch,
Maybe a little smile,
Remember you're alive,
Enjoy it.
