The Heart Chakra is our seat of love and compassion. So through this breath work practice, we will lean into the heart space with 1:1 breaths-meaning, we will breathe in for the same amount of time we breathe out. This breath practice also incorporates a "cat/cow" action to help us bring our awareness to the heart space.

Hello beautiful souls.

So this month is all about self-love and we understand that the heart chakra is our seat of love and compassion.

And so today's breathwork practice we're really going to be leaning into the heart space by doing one-to-one breaths.

Now one-to-one breaths may feel similar to even breaths but the big difference is there's no particular count with the inhale and the exhale.

Also with our one-to-one breaths we're really going to be leaning in and out of the heart space.

So the breath will look something like this.

As you inhale you're going to expand through the heart space and really puff up and push out through the chest.

And as you exhale you're going to contract by rounding through the spine and really pushing the heart chakra back.

Okay it's gonna look similar to a cat-cow action.

Right?

So inhaling expanding through the heart and exhaling contracting through the heart space.

Okay so that is what it'll look like with our one-to-one breaths.

As you inhale you're gonna inhale to a place that feels good and then you're going to exhale to a place that feels good.

No particular count just making sure that inhale matches the exhale.

So whenever you're ready find a comfortable position.

I definitely encourage you to be in a seated position so you can feel the fullness of your inhale puffing through the heart space and the exhale retracting through the heart space.

Alright so wherever you are find a comfortable position and I invite you to close your eyes if that feels safe for you.

You're always welcome to keep your eyes open or maybe keep a low gaze.

Let's move through three rounds of cleansing breaths before we get into our one-to-one breaths through the heart chakra.

Take a deep inhale through the nose as you inhale belly starts to expand and as you exhale sigh it out.

Another big breath in through the nose.

Big breath out.

One more really fill up here.

Exhale release.

And let's begin our one-to-one breaths through the heart chakra.

So inhale,

Exhale,

Inhale,

Exhale,

Inhale,

Exhale,

Inhale,

Exhale,

Continuing to breathe through the heart chakra.

Noticing the motion as you expand through the heart space on the inhale and retract through the heart space on the exhale.

Maybe you can deepen through the breath and expand the chest even more.

Maybe you can exhale a little bit more deeply.

Continuing to engage in this one-to-one breath.

Continuing to inhale expanding through the heart space and exhaling retracting through the heart.

And as you continue this breath work practice in this motion maybe you recite the affirmation I am loved.

As you inhale I am,

As you exhale loved.

Continuing to open up through the heart chakra.

Continuing to invite in this truth of love and this truth that you are loved no matter where you are on your journey.

Coming up on our last three rounds of breath.

Inhaling expanding through the heart,

Exhaling deepening through the heart.

Let's take our last one here together.

Inhale expand,

Exhale retract.

And then coming back to a neutral position.

Let's take a big breath in through the nose,

Big breath out the mouth.

And maybe this time you place both hands through heart center.

Taking one more moment to recite and affirm I am loved.

Breathe that in.

Exhale anything that comes against that truth.

And slowly blinking your eyes opened if they were closed.

Remembering that any time you need to extend yourself a little extra love on your journey you can come to this one-to-one breath really expanding and deepening through the heart space.
