Meditation for fitness motivation.
Thank you for joining me Leah the Nifty Yogi.
Assuming that you've found your meditative position and we're going to take a few long breath just to wind ourselves down from either our day or our mornings.
So let's take a deep breath in,
Find your posture and letting go.
A couple more long breath here.
Hopefully feeling a little slower breath than mine did.
Notice what motivates you especially to get moving.
Doesn't have to be a run or the gym.
Gardening is hugely physical,
Exhausting,
Whole body movements,
Flexibility,
Strength.
But it doesn't have to be gardening either.
Maybe it's beach walks and they're great for the lower body and core especially because walking through the softer sand is a lot harder work than walking on hard ground.
Now we're going to really think about ourselves right now and I'll give you a few examples as we go.
When do you feel you're most energetic throughout your day?
Is it as soon as you get out of bed?
Is it after lunch or somewhere in between that?
So in the evening whatever it is just tune into that time.
And is it available to you to move?
Maybe if you're working from 9 till 5 and your energy levels peak at maybe 1 p.
M.
For example.
Are you able to take a 1 p.
M.
Lunch break and go for a brisk walk somewhere?
Or if you work part-time,
Shift work,
Whatever it is that you do,
Maybe you've got kids.
Kids are great examples.
They'll join you with anything and everything.
So find that time that you can move,
That you will move,
That you don't have any excuses not to because you've got this.
Yes excuses pop up every now and then.
Maybe it's raining or stormy.
Maybe you like to take your dog out for a walk or run and it's too hot for their paws.
All these little things pop up but it doesn't have to stop us.
Find a way around it.
Maybe instead of walking from home you could go to a shady park,
Drive there,
Do some squats,
Do some push-ups,
Whatever it is that you do.
Maybe it's just a light walk,
Yoga.
And getting in nature is an extra bonus.
And if you can do two lots of exercise a day even better.
One high intensity,
One low intensity is ideal and that's what I highly recommend.
So if I can't do both at least try and do one or the other.
So you've got one thing to be proud of.
And if you love to work out at a gym or at home,
Whatever it is.
When was the last time you regretted a workout?
Ever?
Apart from if you injured yourself of course.
But I always say,
But I always say when was the last time you regretted a workout or a run?
Whatever it was.
The only time you regret it is when you don't do it.
And here's the best tip you'll probably ever receive.
And it's set a small goal.
So if you want to or if your main goal is to do a one hour workout,
Whatever it is,
Rather than setting that expectation of yourself and you feel exhausted this day,
Just go for 15 minutes.
That's all.
And once you're there,
No doubt you'll start to feel more energetic.
Your endorphins will get going and you might even stay for the whole hour.
So maybe you can put that into your routine.
If you.
.
.
So the next time you only have a short time slot,
Don't worry about the time.
Worry about your endorphins,
Your feel-good emotions.
Worry about your body.
Keeping its strength,
Flexibility,
Endurance.
Because all of that counts.
All of it matters.
And I want you to feel good.
And of course we're gonna have our down days,
Exhausted days.
Maybe we're super sore from a big hike or walk or run,
Whatever it is.
And make sure you do allow those rest days if you're super sore.
Your body needs to heal before it can get stronger.
So this is where meditation helps.
Mindfulness is key.
So the next time you decide to bail on your physical activity for the day,
What are your excuses?
No one else has your back.
You've got to do it yourself.
So find that little bit of time that might lead into a longer time and just do it.
You've got this.
So take a deep breath in of confidence,
Motivation.
It's time to get going.
Enjoy whatever it is you're about to do.
And thank you for joining me.
I look forward to communicating with you soon.
Namaste my friends.
